PLYMOUTH â€” South Michigan street will be closed to traffic between East Lake Avenue and West LaPorte Street Sunday from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The closure is intended to protect the traveling public from possible debris coming from the demolition of the western wall of the Dimmitt building.
"We wish to thank the public for avoiding the closed area, which will safely expedite the demolition process and minimize the street closure time required," said city engineer Rick Gaul in a statement Wednesday.
BREMEN â€”Â Bremen Family Martial Arts is hosting a self-defense class for women at 7 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $20 per person for the two-hour class. Those wishing to attend should be there (105 E. Plymouth St.) by 6:45 p.m. to begin promptly at 7 p.m. Attendees should also wear comfortable clothing. Those that cannot physically take part can attend to learn about keeping themselves safe. LAKEVILLE â€” Tuesday was a night to commemorate LaVille seniorsâ€™ involvement in band during their high school career, but the students couldnâ€™t miss a chance to publicly thank their director, Nathanael Sudduth, for his hard work in helping them succeed.
â€ś(Sudduth) has done a lot for us,â€ť said senior KaiDee Pack to friends and family gathered in the school cafeteria. â€śHe came here and made us better than we were.â€ť
CULVER â€” Meet Mark Damore, Jr., a far less familiar face to Culver residents than his father, Original Root Beer Stand owner Mark Damore, though Mark the younger is quick to emphasize he's "proud to be named after (my father)."
He's a Chicago native, Butler grad, and he wants the former Edgewater Grille to be the best restaurant in Culver.
