BREMEN — After performing "Grease" as last year's musical, Bremen High School students experienced a challenge this year with "Annie Get Your Gun," a lesser-known show. However, choir director Kathy Overmyer was confident that her students could pull off the colorful performance.
"We have a lot of really strong seniors this year, and this show lends itself to strong, funny characters," said Overmyer. "I felt that we had the cast to make it work this year."
The Marshall County Emergency Management Agency wishes to remind citizens that a state wide tornado drill will be conducted today. The warning sirens in several areas may be activated as part of the drill. Two drills will be conducted, one at approximately 10:15 am and the second at approximately 7:35 pm.
The purpose of the event is to make sure that warning systems are functioning properly, and to give families, schools, businesses and other organizations an opportunity to test their emergency plans.

PLYMOUTH — When area residents hear Earthworks, they immediately think of a variety of healthy, wholesome breads and other baked products.
However, according to Sister Sue Rogers who oversees much of the Earthworks activities, one of their basic purposes is education.

PLYMOUTH — If the best kind of learning is hands-on, Plymouth senior Allen Collins has learned quite a bit this year. Since the beginning of the school year, Collins and several other students in the Microsoft Certification class at Plymouth High School have been refurbishing second-hand computers with the intent to resell them and use the money to benefit students in need.
PLYMOUTH — Laurie Johnson, of DLZ Engineering, presented Marshall County commissioners with two awards Monday for the work done on Pioneer Road. The first was a state finalist award from the American Council for Engineering Committee (ACEC), which Johnson explained is awarded annually. The second was an Indiana Partnership of Transportation Quality (IPTQ) award for rural road projects. The awards were given to DLZ Engineering, Rieth-Riley, and Marshall County.

PLYMOUTH — Back in November, when Lincoln Jr. High School teacher Amy Gerard had her students enter a contest using the online program Bullying Academy, she had no way of knowing that they would place first in the nation based on their test scores after going through the unit's content. But they did, and Friday the school held a celebration complete with a pizza party and a visit from Dr. Tony Bennett, head of Indiana Department of Education.
PLYMOUTH — NIPSCO will be installing a gas main on Pierce Street from Michigan Street to Walnut Street beginning Tuesday and continuing for approximately 10 days. During this time, traffic on Pierce Street will be restricted in the westbound lane.
BOURBON — Toby Grose, 40, of Elkhart was traveling eastbound on U.S. 30 approaching Beech Road Saturday afternoon when his vehicle was struck by Coleen Gallinger-Miller, 33, of Bourbon, who was traveling northbound on Beech Road. Both vehicles came to rest in the median following the collision. Five people from both of the vehicles were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw and treated for minor injuries. The accident is still under investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department.

PLYMOUTH — It was a day of celebration at Riverside as the school was officially named a “School to Watch” in the state of Indiana.
Dignitaries including the Indiana State Superintendent of Public Education Dr. Tony Bennett were on hand at the school to celebrate the naming of Riverside as a School to Watch - an honor that has responsibilities attached to it.
