How to help Sandy victims

November 2, 2012

MARSHALL CO. — Though Marshall County hasn’t been significantly impacted by mega-storm “Sandy,” there are ways that local residents can help victims suffering on the east coast.
Rebecca DeLine of the northern Indiana American Red Cross chapter said that extra training sessions for volunteers have been organized. One of those sessions is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the St. Joseph County Red Cross office in South Bend.
“We are setting up training for those interested in getting engaged right away,” said DeLine Thursday. “As of today, we’ve deployed about 24 volunteers from the area.”
