WALKERTON - You could call it a spelling hegemony. You can also bet there’s a group at John Glenn High School that could tell you how to spell it.
Paul Hernandez’s Glenn spell bowl team won its’ 17th Spell Bowl State Championship in the past 26 years and fifth straight state title. Glenn won many of those championships in Division III but has competed in and won the state’s Division II title the past four years. The team has made the state final round for 27 consecutive years more than any other team in the state.

MARSHALL CO. — Jordan Rans, 27, of Plymouth is returning to familiar grounds as he steps into the position of Marshall County Deputy Sheriff.
He got his start in law enforcement at the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, working there from 2007 to 2011, when he joined the Plymouth Police Department as a patrolman.
Culver's Don Baker has a veritable lifetime of musical experience under his belt, something he hopes area musicians and anyone interested can benefit from by way of “An Introduction to Music Recording and Production: Recording Your Music at Home on a Budget,” this Monday, November 19, starting at 6 p.m. at the Culver Public Library.
