Bridal Fair features many new venders, styles

PLYMOUTH — The annual Bridal Fair sponsored by Treat’s Bridal Shoppe and Squire Shop is this Saturday at Christos’ Banquet Center in Plymouth.
“We have a lot of newness in our vendors (this year),” said Gary Treat, owner. “There are a lot of new (trends) in bridal styles, and we will show those, as well as some prom styles.”

Cooking classes combine healthy habits, gourmet cuisine

PLYMOUTH — This winter, try your hand at whipping up some proscuitto-wrapped asparagus or roasted salmon in one of Fitness Forum’s new cooking classes at the LifePlex. Held once a month beginning in January, these classes focus on creating delicious food that is also healthy. Chef Brad Hindsley, of Spire Catering and Event Planning in LaPorte, will join forces with Phyllis Wille, owner of the New Kitchen Store in Walkerton, to demonstrate easy skills that will help class participants create their own gourmet masterpieces.

First baby of the New Year is Peyton Burdick

PLYMOUTH — The first baby to be born this year at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth was Peyton Burdick, who was born at 10:21 a.m. New Year’s Day.
She weighed 7 pounds and 6 ounces. Her parents, Christine and Jeff Burdick of Walkerton, said that Peyton was originally due on Christmas Eve.
At the time, they didn’t put much thought into Peyton being the first baby of the new year.
