November 26th
All week, we've heard about the violence surrounding the death of Wilma Upsall, when someone broke into the Leiters Ford home where she was staying this past Tuesday afternoon and ended her life. Tonight, however, violence and crime had no place. Tonight was a night to remember, to share and to celebrate the life of Wilma Upsall who was so many things to so many people: She was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; she was also a sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend.

Without a little snow for his sleigh, Santa came to town Friday night atop a Plymouth Fire Truck. After a countdown, Santa and Mayor Mark Senter turned the lights on the downtown Christmas tree then Santa went to the firehouse to share cookies and hot chocolate with the community.

PLYMOUTH — With just about a week remaining until the annual Shop with a Cop auction sponsored by Plymouth FOP Lodge 195, auction items are beginning to fill the area set aside to store them.
Roy Bell, the third and final suspect in the Nov. 22 murder of 81 year old Wilma Upsall, was apprehended by Starke County police in southeastern Starke County near Monterey Friday afternoon, bringing a close to several tense days and a massive search effort which reached a peak Wednesday evening.
Tuesday, at approximately 7:06 p.m., officers from the Indiana State Police and Fulton County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 call reporting a possible murder at 6832 West Olson Road, rural Rochester, IN.
November 23rd
Police are seeking 24 year old Roy Bell in connection with a Leiters Ford area murder and robbery. Last night, police apprehended two of three suspects during an evening manhunt.
Jason Miller, 34, of Plymouth, and William Scroggs, 25, of Delong were arrested last night.
Downtown Plymouth Christmas tree lighting will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday, in front of City Center at 114 N. Michigan St. Christmas music will be provided by members of the PHS choir. Santa will arrive on the fire truck at 5:45 and there will be free carriage rides from 6-8 p.m. next to the Marshall County Museum on Garro St. The museum will also have their trains running. Santa will be at the fire station after the tree lighting for hot chocolate and cookies.
PLYMOUTH — Staff at Michiana Behavorial Health Center decided to evacuate the building early Wednesday morning when a gas leak was suspected. They turned off the gas to the building and called NIPSCO and the Plymouth Fire Department. Fire personnel and NIPSCO arrived at the scene around the same time, but it is unclear if a gas leak actually occurred.
PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Fire Department was called to a house fire at 407 Miner Street Tuesday evening, just before 7 p.m. Fire chief Andy Metsker reported later that the accidental fire caused damage to an upstairs bedroom and the roof above it. No one was injured, and the fire was extinguished by 8:25 p.m.
