September 20, 2011

PLYMOUTH — Drivers will be able to leave behind the detours starting Tuesday afternoon as the new Pioneer Drive will be open for business starting in the afternoon.
Ronnie Wireman, construction engineer for DLZ overseeing the project for Marshall County, made the announcement by email to county officials and the media Monday morning.
“I am pleased to inform you that we are planning to open Pioneer Drive to traffic on Tuesday at approximately 3:30 p.m.,” Wireman said.
While the road will be open to traffic there will still be a few items to finish up to complete the project.

PLYMOUTH — The phrase on the business card of Dave Ferguson, President & CEO of Stone Creek Homes, is more than just a catch phrase. It is a vision that Ferguson lives by.
During the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday morning for the manufacturing plant, Ferguson said, “This is an opportunity to pay forward.” He added, “I’m here by choice.”

Part 5 of 5: The future of technology; expectations for the next few years

September 20, 2011

“Books still have their place — they will always have their place,” said Lincoln Jr. High School principal Dan Funston.
However, after going to computers for every student this year, area schools say that they expect to keep up with ever-changing technology.
Schools have a three or four-year lease with Apple, after which they can choose to keep the computers they have — or go with a new technology.
“I see us continuing to stay current and teach the kids these skills,” said Funston. “We are going to remain at the front of teaching our kids technology skills.”
