It's been hard for Culverites to miss signs of some of the major construction projects underway at Culver Academies lately, many of which represent significant changes and enhancements not only to the campus, but in a broader sense, to the entire community.
PLYMOUTH â€”On the eve of the tenth anniversary of the September 11 tragedy, members and friends of the Plymouth Phi Delta Kappa joined with the Indiana Patriot Guard Riders to honor and remember those serving in the military now and those that have been lost, along with the EMS, firefighters, and police everywhere. The event began at the Phi Delta Kappa facility on W. Harrison Street with a processional of riders through the city, a solemn ceremony at Oakhill Cemetery and a fundraiser.
PLYMOUTH â€” Three young boys, full of life, will always remind Katie Benedict Friedman of the events of 9/11.
Katie (Culver Community High School 1991 grad) and her husband, Seth, decided to start a family soon after the World Trade Centers toppled a few short miles from their place of work in downtown New York City.
â€śI really think that it had to do with the attacks,â€ť said Katie, observing the antics of her three sons, Nathan, 8, Isaac, 6, and Elijah, 4. â€śLife is short.â€ť
