PLYMOUTH — Barn Quilts have been popping up all over Marshall County and if you haven’t yet had the opportunity to take the Marshall County Barn Quilt trail — well the Marshall County Convention and Visitors Bureau has made it easy for you. The Barn Quilt Trail takes you through picturesque country and main roads from which you can view the barn quilts. There are two ways that you can find where the barn quilts are situated. ONE: For a self-guided tour just stop by the Visitor’s Bureau at 220 N. Center St.

Corn detassling popular summer job for students

PLYMOUTH — The cornfield looked empty, just a mass of stalks bending under the sun’s heat.
A few minutes later, however, a large red tractor became visible over the tops of the corn. Groups of kids, all wearing neon orange hats to shield their face from the sun, jumped off the long arms attached to the tractor, brushing cornstalk remnants off their hands. They were in the middle of a long morning of detassling corn — and it was time for a break.
“(The job) has it’s ups and downs,” said Derrick Lee, one of the detasslers, Thursday. “Especially on days like today. It’s hot!”

Online now an option for Plymouth school registration

PLYMOUTH — Families will have the chance to avoid the line at school registration for the coming year as Plymouth Community Schools has a new partner for an online option.
A company named InfoSnap will provide the option for parents of Plymouth students.
Through one simplified process, parents will be able to complete all of the registration forms and share family information between siblings, without having to reenter the information for each child.

Year-long walk route provides free entertainment

PLYMOUTH — The box of directions and maps is sitting on top of the coat rack at Christos’ Family Dining, just waiting for someone looking for an adventure.
Walking the Lincoln Highway, sponsored by the Indiana Volkssport Association (part of the larger American Volkssport Association or AVA) is a group of five different walking routes (chose from 5K or 10K) in Valparaiso, Warsaw, Columbia City, Fort Wayne and Plymouth.
