PLYMOUTH — More than 60 motorcycle enthusiasts were grateful for the picture perfect weather on Saturday afternoon as they began the county-wide ride for United Way.
This year’s ride marked the 10th annual ride that was first dreamed up by organizer Cindy Rash.
Proceeds for the past two years have been earmarked for the Heminger House. Heminger House is a shelter for abused women and children.

PLYMOUTH — Sisters Jessica Oliver and Jennifer Houin have lost track of just how many volunteers have stepped up to help with the Ounce of Prevention Breast Cancer Ta Ta Trot walk-run.
The second annual event was held Saturday beginning on the grounds of Oliver Ford in Plymouth with more than 200 runners/walkers participating.
Houin said, “The ultimate best thing of this is the beautiful volunteers who come out to help Jessica and me every year.”
Oliver said people man water stops, prepare handouts, register participants, and “anything else you can think of that needs to be done.”

Miss Blueberry 2011 is Shelby Dirrim

June 27, 2011

ARGOS — Seventeen young women lit up the stage of the Argos High school auditorium Saturday night at the Marshall County Miss Blueberry Festival 2011 pageant—but ultimately, one outstanding contestant took home the crown. Shelby Dirrim, of Bremen, was named the new festival queen, succeeding Miss Blueberry 2010, Shelly Ortiz.
“I’m still a little bit shocked—like, did they call the right number?” said Dirrim after the pageant. Clutching her bouquet of flowers and flushed with excitement, Dirrim added, “I’m really excited to represent the festival this way.”
