March 15th
PLYMOUTH â Marshall County Farm Bureau and Purdue Extension are sponsoring an afternoon and evening program Thursday, March 17, on pertinent information for area farmers. The program will start at 3 p.m. with a light meal at 6 p.m. and an evening program to follow. The meeting will be held in the Marshall County Extension Office in room 304. The afternoon session will discuss wind farm opportunities and concerns and Marshall County Zoning ordinance. The evening session will be a discussion on crop production, irrigation opportunities, and new agriculture fertilizer certification rule.

PLYMOUTH â This week was one of excitement for the students of Lincoln Junior High School â as well as surrounding schools in the county.
March 13th
Over the past five years or so, students from Culver Community High School and Culver Academies have continued a collaboration which was unprecedented at the time of its debut: that of a shared mission trip to Mexico to serve people there through Habitat for Humanity.
The tradition is slated to continue this year, and two CCHS students joined representatives of the Academies at the Culver Lions Clubâs February 23 meeting to discuss the project.

Culver Community Schoolsâ Board of Directors recognized the contributions of resigning board member Ned Davis, who ended a 14-year tenure with the board January 31, at its last regular meeting. Pictured AT LEFT is board Vice President Jim Wentzel, left, presenting a plaque to Davis.

BREMEN â On March 9 at about 9:03 a.m., the Bremen Police Department received a complaint of shoplifting from the Bellmart, 1151 W. Plymouth St.
Before officers arrived, the suspect vehicle left the business west bound on Plymouth St. At about 9:06 a.m., the suspect vehicle was located and stopped on SR 106 west of Industrial Dr. by Officer Bruce Gadziola.
March 10th
Students and faculty hope the proverbial third timeâs a charm for the student-led âSoup for the Soulâ community event slated for Tuesday, March 29, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Culver Elementary School. For two years running, the event, originally the brainchild of CES 6th grade teacher Missy Trent and art teacher Joyce Lyman, saw 6th graders creating a wide array of hand-made pottery in the form of bowls, ladels, cups, and other items, in which community-donated soup is served to diners from the community, who then take home and keep the student-made items.

PLYMOUTH â When Dave Liverance leaves Ancilla College later this month, his legacy will be one that he can be proud of.
âI really have to say that itâs the relationships Iâve been able to develop with my players, other coaches and the people here at the college that Iâm most proud of,â said Liverance of his time at Ancilla. âIt means a lot more than any other accomplishments that I could have had that Iâve been able to help these young people be successful in their life.â
BREMEN â The American Red Cross Marshall County Chapter will offer free compression-only CPR training classes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 26 at the Bremen Senior Center, 103 N. Center St. The classes are open to all community members age 14 and over.
Each class is one hour. A Spanish interpreter will be available for one of the classes.
March 9th
Culver Academies Choir will join a combined chorus of select singers from every age group -- high school, college, and adult -- in the high-profile, four-day Mozart International Choral Festival June 29 through July 3, in Salzburg, Germany. The festival culminates in a performance of Mozartâs Mass in C âCoronation,â K.317, and additional selections, in the historic Salzburg Dom. Professor Janos Czifra, director of music at the Dom, (which is the same position Mozart held) and Dr. Eph Ehly, will co-direct the concert, accompanied by a professional Austrian orchestra and European soloists.
The Board of Directors of the Marshall County Community Foundation has announced the estalblishment of a new permanent endowment fund and the first affinity group associated with the MCCF. An affinity group i s a collection of individuals who work together to support a common cause.
Started by 16 Culver-area women, the LIFT Endowment Fund Agremeent was signed during a ceremony on February 25. Known as the LIFT Group, the women hope to use their skills, talent, and friendship to lift other women to success, as LIFT is an acronym for Lending Inspirational Friendship Together.
