Mawhorter named LaVille superintendent

LAKEVILLE — The Union-North School Corporation made it official Wednesday night that Mitchell Mawhorter will begin his duties as the superintendent Jan. 2. Mawhorter comes from his current job as principal at Jimtown Junior High School.
Board President Mark Dickson had made the announcement Dec. 22 that Mawhorter had been chosen by the board to fill the top spot. The position has been filled by interim Julie Lauck since October of this year after being hired in September.

CRC on track to open in March

PLYMOUTH — Construction on the Community Resource Center in Plymouth is coming along nicely, according to board members’ reaction during a walk-through tour Tuesday.
“I’m just ecstatic, I couldn’t say anything negative at all,” said board of directors vice president Ralph Winters after the tour.
