PLYMOUTH — Katlyn Hersick spent her summer in research labs at Notre Dame and Saint Mary's. The PHS senior has been interested in pharmacy since she was in second grade.
"It's my passion," she said. "I love being in the lab."
On a whim, Hersick decided to contact the head of the chemistry department at Notre Dame and asked if they accepted interns. To her surprise, she was asked to come in for an interview.
"I didn't really have much chemistry experience, but she said my passion for chemistry was there," said Hersick.
