PLYMOUTH — Some Marshall County projects are getting ready to begin. Others have completed in an efficient manner.
Brent Martin came before the Marshall County Commissioners with a final change order on the new Marshall County Historical Society Museum. Some parts of the project came in at a considerable savings while others were added to the final product.
All told, the final price tag on the museum is $360,684 with the original cost of $354,623. The final change order put the project over budget by only $6,061. The Historical Society will reimburse the county for that amount.
PLYMOUTH — Eight years ago, Plymouth Police Department Cpl. Bridget (Strong) Hite set out to do two things.
The first was to gather needed items for the children in the community who lacked the necessary winter protection and second, to show the community that the police are there to serve wherever they can.
As she drove around town on patrol, Hite noticed day after day that kids were walking and standing in snow covered sidewalks with nothing but wet shoes on.
PLYMOUTH — The county will take a look at government buildings and energy use in the coming months.
Mark Heirbrandt, of Ameresco came before the Marshall County Commissioners to discuss an energy audit for the county's buildings.
Commissioners Jack Roose and Kevin Overmyer had met with Heirbrandt at a recent conference and discussed the possibility of Ameresco performing the audit on county properties.
Ameresco will take two years of county utility bills for each building to examine trends.
