PLYMOUTH — Francis T. “Frank” Kennedy, 76, of Plymouth, died at 1:30 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth Campus.
Arrangements are pending with the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth.

Storms barrel through Marshall county overnight

MARSHALL COUNTY — Four of Indiana’s largest utilities reported nearly 149,000 homes and businesses without power as of daybreak Tuesday as storms were still pushing their way across the region. The storms seemed to have been the strongest through the northern part of the county in Lapaz. Last night NIPSCO reported as many as 86,000 customers in Indiana without power as a result of the storm. An automated message at Marshall County REMC alerted callers to the widespread outages in their system as well.

2014 Blueberry Queen

ARGOS — Excitement was in the air at Argos High School Saturday evening as 13 young women competed for the Marshall County Blueberry Festival Miss Blueberry crown. This year's theme was "Red, White and Blue-berries." In the end it was a Bourbon native that took the crown from reigning Queen Alexandra Zechiel. Miss Breanna Sue Lemler walked away the 2014 Miss Blueberry Queen.

WARSAW — Chad A. Gottschalk of Warsaw passed away at 5:17 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne at the age of 46.
He was a 1986 graduate of Bloomington High School South, and attended Warsaw Community Church. Chad was the owner of Warsaw Sport & Import Car Dealership in Warsaw for many years, and because of health issues had to give it up.  He enjoyed fishing, animals, skiing, his dog and most of all he loved his family.

PLYMOUTH — Jack L. Johnson, 67, Plymouth, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014, at 12:15 p.m. at his home.
Jack was born on Oct. 8, 1946, in Plymouth, to Walter and Cecile (Long) Johnson. He graduated from Plymouth High School in the “Class of 1964”. Jack proudly served in the United States Navy, as a Hospital Corpsman with the Marines, in Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart and various other medals while he was there. Jack married the former, Helen Dickson, on Aug. 17, 1969, in Plymouth. They were the proud parents of two daughters.

Uceny falls again at US Outdoor Championships

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Morgan Uceny’s fan page on Facebook was filled with messages of support Sunday evening.
“You’ll shake this off. Get back out there soon and do your thing!” wrote one well-wisher.
The inexplicable had happened again, and fans of the Plymouth native wanted her to know they are still with her.
Sunday afternoon, with a lap-and-a-half remaining in the women’s 1,500-meter run at the U.S. Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Uceny was in contention for a national title.
And then she tripped and fell to the track at Sacramento State University.

LAKEVILLE — Mark Kenneth Keen, 54, of Lakeville died Thursday, June 26, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Keen of Lakeville; son, Jesse (Jessica George) Keen of Plymouth; daughter, Amy (David) Owens of Laurel; brother, Scott (Melody) Keen of Columbus; sisters, Elizabeth Sallee of Knox, Jeanne Keen of Knox; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Isabella Keen and brother, Jim Keen.
