MENTONE â€”Â Charles Lee Shoemaker of 7593 West 600 South, Mentone, died at 1:45 a.m. Friday Nov. 11, 2011 at the age of 91. Charles was born July 8, 1920 in Burket to Ted and Ruth (Jones) Shoemaker. He married Pauline May Middaugh of Argos, Feb. 14, 1942 she survives.

WARSAW â€”Â Paul Hartle of 943 S. 400 W., Warsaw passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 at 9 a.m. at his residence in Warsaw at the age of 67.
He was born Jan. 4, 1944 in Rochester to Charles Hartle and Clara (Kepfer) Hartle. He was married in Culver, Feb. 25, 1963 to Anna Lee Lutz, who passed away Aug. 23, 2000.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County since 1974. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy, worked as an electrician for the city of Warsaw, and after retirement he was self employed.

PLYMOUTH â€” Brieanna Slonaker, 11, of Plymouth, has spent a lot of time at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis since she was diagnosed with Crohnâ€™s disease in 2005. The disease that causes chronic fatigue and inability to digest food keeps Brieanna in the hospital quite a bit. Fortunately, said mom Cindy Slonaker, the arts and crafts available for children at Rileyâ€™s help keep Brieannaâ€™s spirits up.
The new and improved bridge on 13th Road, connecting State Road 17 and Highway 31, was completed last week. The bridge is now open to traffic.
The Cancer Association of Marshall County held their annual board meeting Oct. 25. The group began assisting cancer patients within the county in 1962. Funding began with monies from the estates of Welcome R. Ebersole, Grace Moslander, and Roy Hawk. The Zeta Zeta Chapter of Delta Theta Tau implemented the program by providing transportation to cancer patients and providing financial assistance to patient for the purchase of drugs related to cancer care. Funds to provide transportation are not utilized as often since local hospitals are conveniently located.
PLYMOUTH â€”Â Triton jumped up on Argos early and rode the fast start to a win at home at the Trojan Trench Tuesday, 53-45.
The Lady Trojans (1-0) used some tough defense and good team speed to open on an 11-0 tear in the gameâ€™s first three and a half minutes. The two teams played evenly after that, but Argos (2-1) never got closer than five points away as the Lady Dragons suffered their first defeat of the year.
PLYMOUTH â€” Plymouth seniors Danny Stephenson and Cole Mann were recently named to the All-Northern Lakes Conference football team.
Stephenson was a two-way lineman for the Rockies, while Mann was a running back and defensive lineman for the team, which finished 2-5 in the NLC.
Also for Plymouth, senior split end/ defensive end Hayden Skirvin was awarded an All-NLC Honorable Mention.
