PLYMOUTH â Tâwas the night before Christmas and all through the burb all the neighbors were hustling to light up their curb..
Christmas Eve is a flurry of activity at the Nutmeg Ridge subdivision in Plymouth. The residents take special delight in decorating their homes for Christmas each year, but they do not stop at just decorating their homes; each year on Christmas Eve, weather permitting, several residents get together and light up the streets of the entire subdivision with luminaries.

PLYMOUTH â The staff at Country Auto in Ply-mouth knows that hard economic times and the holidays in full swing make it difficult for many to get the needed preventative care for their cars and trucks.
Co-owner Jennifer Martin decided to make it a little easier by offering an oil change discount coupon called âDonât Be a Turkeyâ in The Shopper and then, just for fun, held a drawing for a turkey dinner.
Tuesday, Martin drew the name of Maria McCloud-Wallace and presented her with the coupon from Martinâs Super Market entitling her to a 12-14 pound precooked turkey with all the trimmings.

The recently completed Church World Service CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Hunger Walk was able to raise a large amount of money once again this year to combat hunger all over the world. The original walk in Marshall County nearly three decades ago was organized by the Plymouth Church of the Brethren and they continue to be the central sponsor but there has been lots of help from other organizations over the years.
PLYMOUTH â Just days ago, the Marshall County Neighborhood Center was scrambling to find funds and other donations to fill the last 111 of the more than 500 applications it received for help for Christmas.
Due to the generosity of the community, they were able to complete the daunting task.
According to the centerâs director Sarah Hendrix, almost all of the applicants were asking for food and other basic needs.

The nomination was submitted by a steering committee composed of individuals from the counties through which the historic route passes. Co-chair of the committee Kurt Garner hopes that the designation will bring other benefits to the area.
