Christmas spirit in gear at Oliver Ford

December 23, 2010

PLYMOUTH — Oliver Ford has started a new Christmas tradition that it has entitled “20 Days of Giving.”
The Oliver Ford service team of Cody Rhodes, Barry Grosselin and Gayle Lemler — as well as the ladies in the office: Gracie Fonseca, Wendy Tapia and Della Egger — have been collecting new and gently-used toys for the children of the Marshall County Neighborhood Center and the Heminger House in Plymouth. In return, Oliver Ford gave each person that donated a toy or a monetary donation 50 percent off an oil change, including a spot-free vehicle wash.

Inspired Elkhart Christian routs Bremen in 2010 boys closer

December 22, 2010

ELKHART — After Tuesday’s 2010 finale, the Bremen boys basketball team hopes the new year brings better results.
Bremen found itself in a 15-point hole after a quarter against Elkhart Christian Academy and never challenged the hosts in a 50-27 defeat.
“They came out ready to play and we did not,” Bremen coach Kyle Hanyzewski said. “Our defensive effort was very concerning. I’m at a loss for words, and anybody that’s ever seen us play defense would say the same thing.”
