Wednesday, around 9:55 a.m., Ashley Zehner, 19, was traveling west on 9C Road near Tulip when she lost control on ice-covered road surface. Zehner spun off the road and traveled into the south embankment where she then struck a telephone junction box. Her vehicle came to rest facing east. Zehner said she was driving west when a mail delivery vehicle was on the side of road, and when she applied brakes to slow, her vehicle started to slide. Zehner was transported to St . Joseph Regional Medical Center for complaint of pain to the back and neck area.

The term, âpay it forwardâ has been in vogue in recent years, especially following the release of the popular 2000 movie of the same name, though many may not realize that, like many films, âPay it Forwardâ was based on a book (in this case by Catherine Ryan Hyde).
BREMEN â The Boys & Girls Club of Bremen is preparing to host its second annual Great Big Kid Club event March 19 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Isadore Hall, Bremen. The evening will feature dinner from Hoosier Catering and an art show featuring creations by the children of the Boys & Girls Club of Bremen.

PLYMOUTH â All that Jazz and all that cash were good things for the Boys & Girls Club of Marshall County Saturday night.
The Club held its annual fundraising dinner and auction with some very good results. At the end of the night they were able to bring in around $29,000.
âI think people liked the fact we had a wide variety of items in our silent auction,â said Billie Treber, director of the Club. âWe didnât have just all high-end items like jewels or trips. I think everybody enjoyed that.â

WARSAW â Lynn Y. Miller, 73, of Warsaw, died t 3:35 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 in Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne.
She is survived by her husband, Terry; six children: Lisa (Gary) Bowman of Amboy, Ind., Rhonda (Rex) Rife of Pierceton, Tina Hostetler of Mesa, Ariz., Roger (Pam) Hostetler of Kansas City, Kan., Tracy Ousley of Bourbon, and Tina Miller of Syracuse; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 at Deaton-Clemons Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon.

ENID, Okla. â John James Hutchings died peacefully Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at home in Enid, Okla.
He was born May 1, 1927 in Morris, Ill. to Forrest and Ada (Goss) Hutchings.
John grew up in Plymouth, Ind. and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1945.
John worked for the Indiana Motor Bus Company for 24 years as the Charter Coach Manager. He took many trips to Wrigley Field to see his beloved Cubs play.

BREMEN â Helen Marie (Weil) Reed, 82, of Bremen, passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.Â
She was lovingly cared for by her family in her home throughout her illness.
She was born March 14, 1928 in Bremen to George and Hattie (Schweisberger) Weil in the same home in which she lived her entire life.
Sept. 27, 1946 she married Paul Reed; he survives.

WAKARUSA â Becky Lechlitner, 53, Wakarusa, died at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at Elkhart General Hospital.Â
She was born Sept. 4, 1957 to Harold and Eloise (Balsley) Brenneman. She married Mark Lechlitner July 20, 1985 in Elkhart.
Surviving are her husband; sons, Joshua and Jared Lechlitner of Wakarusa; mother, Eloise Brenneman of Elkhart; and sisters, Beth (Ed) Kovatch of Mishawaka and Brenda (Paul) Fizer, Elkhart.Â
Preceding her in death was her father, Harold Brenneman.
