DONALDSON — Ancilla College has announced plans to host its third annual Tri Ancilla sprint triathlon on Saturday, May 21.
Located on the grounds of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ Ministry Center, the Tri Ancilla sprint triathlon will consist of a 500 yard swim, an 11 mile bike ride, and a 3.1 mile run.

PLYMOUTH — Area eighth graders got a hard dose of truth at Plymouth’s Lincoln Jr. High.
The program known as “The Reality Store†sent Plymouth and Argos eighth grade students through a brief exercise designed to give them a taste of the economic realities of adulthood. In addition it seems to have given most a new perspective on certain people in their lives.
“It definitely gives me a new appreciation of my parents,†said Tabby Masterson, a Lincoln student, as she made her way through the maze of adult budgetary responsibilities.

KNOX — Ronald G. “Jack†Hutton, 70, of Knox, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; children: Cindy Clarida of Valparaiso, Robert Hutton of Culver, Helen Banek of St. John, Ind., Joe Banek of Cedar Lake, Ind., Ron Hutton of Knox, Chrissy Bottorff of Koontz Lake, Tina Kuckson of LaPorte, and Tracy Geslak of Westville; and 15 grandchildren.
Graveside services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2 at Eagle Creek Cemetery, Knox.
M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Knox, is assisting the family with arrangements.

LAKE OF THE WOODS — Lifetime Marshall County resident Connie Lee Ullery, passed away Monday, March 28, 2011 at 1:31 p.m. in the Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, Ind. Connie has bravely faced her health issues over the past several years.
Connie was born in Plymouth Oct. 23, 1944. She was the daughter of Howard E. and Nina C. (Albert) Schafer.
She graduated from LaPaz High School in 1962. There she played in the band and has for many years served as an officer for the Alumni Association.
Garneta Light
May 28, 1929 — March 27, 2011
PLYMOUTH — Garneta Light, 81, died of natural causes in Miller’s Merry Manor, 635 Oakhill Ave., at 11:20 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011.
Garneta was born May 28, 1929, in Tyner, Ind., the daughter of Ray and Agnes Rupel Stull. She graduated from Tyner High School.
She was first married to Don Balsley and later married Willard Light.
Garneta worked as a dietician at several hospitals and nursing homes in Indiana and Illinois.
With a deep returning cast and a team benchmark in its opener against Argos, Culver Community’s softball team is feeling good about the start of the 2011 softball season.
The Lady Cavaliers topped the visiting Dragons 5-3 Tuesday, giving head coach Cristyn Cottone her first win at the helm for Culver.
PLYMOUTH — Plymouth sophomore Amber Redinger and senior Meagan Barron were named All-Northern Lakes Conference selections for the girls basketball season.
Redinger, a 6-foot forward, averaged a team-high 9.81 points per game in her second season with the Lady Pilgrims, while Barron, a four-year team member and second-year All-NLC pick, averaged 8.57 points per game to finish with a career total of 455 while leading the team to a 14-7 finish at point guard this season.
BREMEN — Bremen High School senior Kelsey Stichter has signed a national letter of intent to continue her academic and tennis career at Bethel College in the fall of 2011.
Stichter has played varsity doubles at Bremen for two seasons thus far and looks to have a successful senior campaign this spring playing number one doubles for the second year.

PLYMOUTH — When Britni Mills graduated from Plymouth High School in 2008 and headed for the Purdue University campus, she knew she wanted to find a career where she could help people. That desire has stayed strong.
Now as a junior at Purdue, she is majoring in sociology and minoring in communications to help fulfill that dream.
In May, she hopes to be able to put her training and education to the test by making a seven-week trip to China.
Mills joined the campus Outreach Ministries at Purdue that has helped to give her a direction for her future.
Robert Allen Yeo
Nov. 15, 1955 — March 25, 2011
LAKEVILLE — Robert Allen Yeo, 55, passed away at 3:40 p.m. March 25, 2011 at Regency Place in South Bend, from cancer.
Robert was the son of Ronald and Mary Jane Yeo. He will be remembered lovingly by his mother; and siblings, Ben (Peggy) Yeo of Bremen; Barb (Lynn) Donathen of Tippecanoe; Beverly (Harold) Roberts of Bremen; Brenda Yeo (Kevin Frick) of Lakeville; and Russell (Jennifer) Yeo of Bourbon. Robert’s father, Ronald, preceded him in death.
