PLYMOUTH â€” Austin Schoff, the 18 year old Plymouth High School student who was struck by another Plymouth teen on Michigan Road Feb. 17, has been removed from ICU at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
Says mom, Kathy Jo Schoff, â€śAustin is making huge strides considering the damage that has been done.â€ť
She said that on day five, the intracranial pressure valve was removed from his brain and the sedative was turned off.
â€śDay six, the ventilator was removed and he began breathing successfully on his own,â€ť she said.

ROYAL OAK, Mich. â€” Plymouth graduate Jessica Centa was one of three Saint Maryâ€™s basketball players given Michiana Intercollegiate Athletic Association All-Conference honors, the college announced Tuesday.
Centa was named to the All-MIAA second team along with teammate Patsy Mahoney, while Kelley Murphy was named to the first team for the Belles.

Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012, at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home.
Committal services will follow at New Oak Hill Cemetery, in Plymouth.

ARGOS â€”Â John Herbert Fear Sr., 75, of 7988 S.R. 10, Argos, died Feb. 25, 2012 at 6:29 a.m. at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, following a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 19, 1937 in Argos to Thurl J. and Elnora (Mechling) Fear. He lived all of his life in the Argos community. Nov. 7, 1981 in Plymouth, he married Malva I. LaVanway.
