PLYMOUTH — For some people, the halftime shows are the best part of Friday Night Lights.
Those people and others who appreciate the precision and practice required to bring those shows to life in front of a crowd will be sure to attend the 16th annual Harvest Festival Marching Invitational Saturday in Plymouth’s Rockpile stadium.
Hosted by the Pride of Plymouth, 14 bands from the region are taking part, putting on their shows and doing their best to impress the judges. The Festival starts at 5 p.m., with the first band, Bremen, taking the field soon after.

Ball State economist Michael Hicks says September’s job numbers paints a familiar story of mixed growth.
“Things are better, but not yet good, he says. “The numbers aren’t bad as 248,000 new jobs were added last month and employment for August was revised up to 180,000 from 142,000.”
While the U.S. Department of Labor announced Friday that the nation’s unemployment rate dropped to 5.9 percent from 6.1 percent, a closer examination of the underlying numbers is far less satisfying, says Hicks, director of Ball State’s Center for Economic and Business Research.
PLYMOUTH – The Marshall County Community Foundation awarded $66,210 in grants Oct. 2 at Key Bank. The grant money was part of the second round of 2014 community fund grants to be passed out.
Ten groups were awarded funds for the year. Each representative stood and spoke for a moment about what their grant money was funding in the community.
WALKERTON — Zach Combes and Adam Dodson are Glenn’s dynamic duo.
The Falcon seniors form arguably the best running back duo in the Northern State Conference, one that is as productive, if not more, than most you’ll find in the entire state of Indiana.
Combes and Dodson have combined to rush for 1,090 yards and 14 rushing touchdowns in six games this season.
“I would like to coach for 20 or 30 more years and it’s going to be awfully difficult to have a duo better than this for the rest of my life,” Glenn head coach Dave Sharpe admitted. “I’m enjoying this moment for sure.”
