Lady Dragons win third straight vs Winamac

ARGOS — The Argos Lady Dragons picked up their third straight victory as they defeated the Winamac Lady Warriors 51-44 at home Thursday night. Argos never trailed in the game, but never led by more than seven until late in the game.
Dragons coach Gary Teel spoke about how the Lady Dragons are coming together as a team after three straight victories.

School budgeting process under way

PLYMOUTH — Frederick C. Morrow passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at his apartment at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth. He was 90 years old.

Forrest Bailey

ARGOS — Forrest Bailey, 85, a former Argos resident, passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth following an extended illness.
The son of Sebern and Icie Bradley Bailey, Forrest was born March 22, 1928 in Decoy, Ky.
He had resided in the communities of LaPorte and Knox prior to moving to Argos in 1969.
On July 23, 1949, Forrest and Delores M. Fisher were married in Knox. Delores passed away Jan. 20, 1990. On April 24, 2004, he married Mary L. (Middaugh) Wagoner in Argos.

Vigil draws awareness, prayers for murdered child

Lady Cavs survive turnovers, top CGA

CULVER — Culver Community’s girls basketball team coughed up the ball 40 times Wednesday — and won. By double digits.
Then again, Culver Girls Academy turned the ball over 32 times itself and shot an ice-cold 29 percent from the field.
In the end, Kayla Shaffer and Mickella Hardy salvaged an otherwise choppy, sloppy contest to guide the visiting Cavs past their crosstown rivals, 51-39 at Fleet Gymnasium.

Girls basketball
Washington hands Plymouth 1st loss
Washington handed Plymouth’s girls basketball team its first loss of the season in South Bend Wednesday night, 48-27.
The Lady Pilgrims shot just 31 percent from the floor (9-of-29) and turned the ball over 33 times in the loss at the end of a game which featured 53 combined turnovers by both teams.
Freshman Nicole Horvath had a big night with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the visitors, while Hunter Stevens also scored 10 for Plymouth, which slipped a game to 6-1.

KOKOMO-Josephine Alyce (Mullett) Alexander went home to the Lord on Dec. 8, 2013.
She was born January 10, 1924 in Nappanee to Levi and Mary (Yoder) Mullett.
