Born in Tippecanoe on May 22, 1932, Harold GeneÂ wasÂ the treasured son of Ralph and Arlene Shaffer Jefferies. Growing up he shared his childhood with a sister Marylou.

KOONTZ LAKE â€”Â Ethelyn Jean Young, 77, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Hospice House, South Bend. Ethelyn was born July 28, 1935 in Huntington to Carl and B. Lucille (Aldridge) Gressley and lived in the area most of her life. She was retired from Lear Corp. in Plymouth and was a former school bus driver for the Jesse Corp. of Plymouth. She was a member of the Home Economics Club of Koontz Lake.

LEXINGTON, S.C. â€” Long time Plymouth resident, Bob Taylor, died July 1, 2013.
In 2004, he and his wife, Nancy, relocated to Lexington, S.C. to be with his grandchildren and remained there until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy, four sons, Robert Taylor Jr. of Budapest, Craig Taylor of Orlando, Fla., Colonel (retired) Scott Taylor of Lutherville, Md. and John Taylor of Lexington, S.C. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.

TIPPECANOE â€”Â Harold Gene Jefferies, 81, of Tippecanoe, died at 10 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, at his residence.
He is survived by his daughter, Jody (Michael) Luke of Goshen; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Marylou Botich of South Bend.
Funeral service will be at 12 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. Visitation is from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be at the Rochester IOOF Cemetery.

PLYMOUTH â€” Post 27â€™s so-called number two lineup gave their coaches something to think about Friday.
After the Diamond Spydersâ€™ usual lineup collected just six hits in the teamâ€™s first two games at the Patriot Tournament, Post 27â€™s second string racked up 14 against the Ajax Baseball Club of Ontario, Canada. The result was a 7-4 win and a rebound from an earlier 6-2 loss at the hands of Three Oaks, Michigan earlier Friday.
PLYMOUTH - A tentative plea agreement has been reached in a case of aggravated battery and child neglect.
On May 10 Plymouth Police and Emergency personnel were called to the residence of Diana Turner regarding a child that was not breathing normally. Plymouth Sgt. Gary Cleveland was first on the scene and requested Plymouth Detective Sgt. Leo Mangus respond as well.
The child was taken to Memorial Hospital and subsequently recovered. The child is showing no signs of lasting injury and doing well.
BREMEN â€” Gov. Mike Pence was in Bremen on Wednesday, July 3, for the ceremonial signing of a pair of laws spearheaded by northern Indiana state legislators.
One bill limits the amount of pseudophedrine and ephedrine consumers can purchase to 61.2 grams per year without a doctorâ€™s prescription.
The law, authored by State Sen. Carlin Yoder, R-Middlebury, passed during the 2013 legislative session.
