CULVER âÂ Mary C. Smith, 85, of Culver passed away July 6, 2013 at 9:50 p.m. in Culver.
She was born April 24, 1928 in Argos to James and Edith (Wilson) Hoffman.
She loved her church, riding her bicycle, crocheting and doing embroidery.
She is survived by sons, Roger L. (Pauline) Smith of Culver, Dusty (Ruth) Eckman of Plymouth; daughter, Sondra L. Smith of Plymouth; three grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter.

FORT WAYNE â Keith R. Deeter, 77, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013.
Born in Fort Wayne, Keith spent his career as a commercial electrician working for the IBEW Union Local 305 of Fort Wayne. He helped on many area schools and hospitals for many companies including Henry Electric of Angola and Central Electric of Fort Wayne.

NAPPANEE âÂ Kathleen âRubyâ Bringman, 58, of Nappanee, died at 4:10 p.m., Tuesday, at Indiana University Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband, Peter; son, Fletcher Garner, Cary, N.C.; daughter, Janeca Adkins, Nappanee; three grandchildren; mother, Bettie Kendrick, Sebring, Fla.; and brothers, Larry Kauffman, Nappanee, James Kendrick, Nappanee.
PLYMOUTH â A miscommunication resulted in a mistake in an advertisement for Rock On 109 Boutique, located next to ASK for Flowers.
The advertised discount of 50% off ALL merchandise was incorrect. The store is offering discounts Up To 50% during the Downtown Plymouth Sidewalk Sale.
PLYMOUTH - The city of Plymouth will make improvements on the sewage lift station on Pioneer Drive and the Board of Public Works and Safety got an idea of what that is going to cost Monday.
The Board opened bids to do the work on the lift station from four different contractors at their regular meeting.
Bids ranged from a high of $186,400 from HRP on the work, with an alternative to the base bid of $12,500. to the low bidder, Haskins Underground, whose bid was $120,125 with an alternate of $1,000.
PLYMOUTH â July 11-13, downtown Plymouth vendors will provide bargains for shoppers as they maintain an ongoing tradition.
Many downtown businesses have been participating in Sidewalk Sales as far back as their business has been opened, offering enticing deals to attract customers. Thursday, Friday and Saturday Plymouth downtown sidewalks will be sprinkled with racks and tents offering bargains.
Coinciding with the Plymouth Chamberâs 2nd Friday events, the deals offer parents their own fun from the children centered carnival theme.
PLYMOUTH â Marshall County encountered a patch of rough weather over the noon hour on Wednesday that left crews scrambling to clear roadways of fallen trees.
âWeâve got trees down in Center, West and Polk Townships,â said Neal Haeck Superintendent of the Marshall County Highway Department. âLooks like a lot of the worst weather was in Plymouth or just south of there.â
BREMEN â Itâs been almost 10 years since a tragic accident took the lives of Carey Jones, Casey Miller and Chad Beeson, volunteers for the Bremen High School football team who were killed by a drunk driver coming home from a playoff game on October 24, 2003.Â A scholarship was established for the three men called the 3 Câs Memorial Scholarship, and 10 years later, there have now been 30 winners from 14 different schools honored with the scholarships.

KNOX â Robert L. Singleton, 60, of Cloverdale, formerly of Knox, died Sunday, July 7, 2013 in Summerfield Health Care, Cloverdale.
Survivors include two daughters, Holly (Joe) Tuttle of Greenwood and Hesper (Joe) Manns of Plymouth; six grandchildren; two sisters, Karen Sobieck of Colorado and Margie Singleton of Grovertown; five brothers, John Singleton, Chris Singleton, Gary Singleton and Kevin Singleton, all of Knox and Byron Singleton of Plymouth; and stepmother, Marilenna Singleton.
