NAPPANEE â€”Â Mary Jeanette Bigler, 83, of Nappanee, died at 4:20 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 at Goshen IU Health, after a battle with cancer.
Surviving are her children, Dr. Elaine (Rob) Bigler-Schmeltz, Syracuse; Jerry L. (Debra) Bigler, Rockwall, Texas, Ronald J. (Jennifer) Bigler, Colleyville, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
â€¢James Ronald Kraftor, 39 of Argos was arrested by Indiana State Police at 4:20 p.m. on Aug. 7 for domestic battery.
â€¢Bonnie Kay Halsey, 51 of Walkerton was arrested by Plymouth Police at 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 7 for theft, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine.
â€¢Cory Alan Barnett, 25 of Mishawaka was arrested by Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 7:20 p.m. on Aug. 7 for court ordered hearing.
â€¢Emily Sabra Windsor, 24 of Burton, MI was arrested by Plymouth Police at 11:15 p.m. on Aug. 7 for battery resulting in bodily injury.
PLYMOUTH â€” After earning a trio of regional berths last season, three area girls golf teams are hoping to pick up where they left off last fall.
While Penn won with a 310 led by Kari Bellvilleâ€™s low medalist 71, NorthWood carded a 358 for runner-up honors at the Plymouth Invitational Wednesday. The host Lady Pilgrims turned in a 412 for seventh place, meanwhile, and John Glenn finished five strokes back in eighth place at the Plymouth Country Club.

ROCHESTER â€” Donabelle Pfeiffer, 93, of Rochester died at 1:17 p.m., Monday, Aug. 5, at her residence.
She is survived by her husband, Don; a daughter, Randy (Reg) Hartman of Warsaw; two sons, Wally (Terry) Pfeiffer of Rochester, Mike (Maureen) Pfeiffer of Rochester; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
â€¢Orlando Colon, 49 of Plymouth was arrested by Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 8:20 a.m. on Aug. 6 for theft, contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
â€¢Roberto Jair Hernandez-Torres, 21 of Bremen was arrested by Bremen Police at 3 p.m. on Aug. 6 for forgery, identity deception.
â€¢Eneida Marabel Gradiz, 38 of Plymouth was arrested by Marshall County Sheriff's Department for operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license.
MARSHALL COUNTY â€” The Marshall County Emergency Management office issued an alert at 9:20 a.m. today warning residents of the potential for severe weather later this morning and into the afternoon.
Although officials referred to it as a "slight risk," the main threats are likely to be damaging winds and large hail.

PLYMOUTH - The Plymouth Library will host a special speaker to talk on the topic of Common Core education standards.
Joy Pullmann a Research Fellow in Education at the Heartland Institute will be speaking on the topic on Aug. 8 at the Library beginning at 7 p.m.
PLYMOUTH â€” The Plymouth School Board held a public hearing on Tuesday night, prior to the regular Board session, concerning the consideration of an approximately $1,425,000 bond. The bond monies will be used for a variety of safety and security needs as identified by a safety audit done earlier this year and other concerns that James Phillips, director of safety and security for the Plymouth Schools, has identified since his hire last month.
Phillips reviewed the immediate needs and a priority list with the Board and the audience members.
