CULVER âÂ John David Hoesel, 84, of Culver, died Aug. 6, 2013.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn âGwenâ Hoesel of Culver; sons, David Graham Hoesel of South Bend, Frederick Allen Hoesel of Culver; daughter, Sara Elizabeth (John) Bean of Lebanon; sister, Sandra (John) Middleton of Culver; daughter-in-law, Mary Hoesel of Bass Lake; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date.

INDIANAPOLIS â It isnât the first time that the Behmer family in Union Township has been honored by the state. The first time was in 1977, when the family farm was honored with a Hoosier Homestead Award.
For five generations, the Behmer family have been farmers or continued to own the original farm established in 1863 by Daniel G. Behmer, who settled in Marshall County from Lancaster, Penn.in 1855. In the Bremen area, 160 acres was purchased in 1862 from the Wabash and Erie Canal Company by David G. Behmer and his wife Mary Jane Platt through a land grant.
â¢Demar Gene Bartley 24, of Fort Wayne was arrested by Plymouth Police at 10:50 a.m. on Aug. 8 for probation violation.
â¢Jena Linn Manns, 35 of Cromwell, IN was arrested by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 4:45 p.m. on Aug. 8 for failure to appear.
â¢Kenneth Ray Craft Jr., 29 of Winamac was arrested by Plymouth Police at 9:04 p.m. on Aug. 8 for theft, failure to appear.
â¢Donald Lee Ballanca Jr., 43 of Rochester was arrested by Plymouth Police at 10:25 p.m. on Aug. 8 for operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license.

âWe are celebrating the harvest of sweet corn, with a âSweet Corn Festival,ââ executive director Betty Glaub-Gibbs said.
Roasted sweet corn and tasty sausage sandwiches will be available outside A.S.K. for Flowers for a $1 each.
Musical entertainment includes Randy Jones and Mike Lintner will be performing from 7 - 8 p.m. by the Marshall County Museum and a bounce house is available for children on Garro Street provided by Plymouth Bounce.

LAKEVILLE - The Lakeville Town Council met Monday Aug. 5 to discuss an array of ongoing projects.
Lakeville Business Owners Association (LaBOA) and the Economic Development Commision (EDC) discussed their initiatives to promote the small town to the surrounding areas.
Secretary for LaBOA and EDC Dennis Denninger informed the town board of the initiatives being put forth. LaBOA published a full page in the Pilot Newspaper illustrating some of the features in Lakeville.

2 Tablespoon(s) Canola Oil
1 Tablespoon(s) margarine, melted
2 Teaspoon(s) chili powder
1 Teaspoon(s) Garlic Powder
1 Teaspoon(s) ground cumin
3/4 Teaspoon(s) Salt
1-1/2 Cup(s) quick oats, uncooked
1 Egg, lightly beaten
1 Tablespoon(s) Water
4 boned and skinned chicken breast halves (about 5 to 6 ounces each)
Chopped cilantro (optional)
In small bowl, combine salsa and orange sections. Refrigerate, covered, until serving time.
PLYMOUTH â Tony Stewart may not be able to drive his sprint car at Plymouth Speedway during the inaugural Bob Newton Hoosier Tire Classic on Aug. 17, but NASCAR driver and racing analyst Kenny Wallace will be there wheeling his Modified car.
Wallace was saddened to hear that Stewart had to cancel his opportunity to race at Plymouth Speedway after sustaining a broken leg in a late crash in a sprint car race at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa on Monday night and will race in Stewartâs honor at the Bob Newton Classic.
INDIANAPOLIS â Three area student-athletes have been nominated to the IHSAAâs 2013-14 Student Advisory Committee.
Plymouth tops 3-way field at home course
Plymouthâs girls golf team opened its nine-hole schedule with a three-way meet at home at the Plymouth Country Club Thursday, and the Lady Pilgrims carded a 196 to beat out Mishawaka Marianâs 207 and Winamacâs 241.
Kelly Henderson carded 44 to lead the Pilgrims a day after sitting out the Plymouth Invitational, while Emily Denney shot 48. Morgan Oberly and Megan Egierski turned in respective scores of 50 and 54 to complete the home teamâs score, and Makayla Fox shot 59.
