PLYMOUTH âÂ Bertha V. Chatron, age 95, of Plymouth, passed away at 9:53 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at Millerâs Merry Manor in Plymouth.

PLYMOUTH â Roena M. Yazel, 92, a Plymouth resident most of her life, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth Campus.
The daughter of Harry and Nellie (Dawson) Wallace, Roena was born in Bremen on Nov. 14, 1920. She graduated from Argos High School in 1938.
On Oct. 12, 1941, Roena married Jacob J. Yazel in Plymouth. He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1997.
PLYMOUTH â Plymouthâs volleyball team jumped off to a fast start to its season Tuesday.
Unfortunately for the Lady Pilgrims, however, they couldnât maintain their early momentum, ultimately succumbing to a strong LaPorte squad in three games, 27-25, 25-15, 25-20.
CULVER âÂ Trent Elliott, 6â5â senior forward at Culver Community High School, has verbally accepted a full-ride scholarship to attend Fairmont State University, in Fairmont West Virgina. Â
Elliott led the Cavaliers with 425 points as a junior as the team finished at 13-9 last season. The three-year varsity standout currently owns 875 career points at Culver.
F.S.U. is a NCAA Division II program. Elliott will make it official during the early signing period this November.
James M. Bulington

PLYMOUTH â James Michael Bulington, 52, a resident of Plymouth, passed away at home, Sunday morning of natural causes.
Jim was born the son of James A. and Mary K. (Hasty) Bulington on Feb. 24, 1961 in Rensselaer. His mother, Mary Brugh with whom he made his home survives.
He was a graduate of LaPorte High School. Jim then enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served as his son Jesse does today.

COLUMBIA, Ky. âÂ Stanford Jessie âStanâ Baker, 66, of Columbia, Ky., formerly of Grovertown, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at the University Medical Center in Lebanon, Tenn. after several monthsâ illness.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Keller Baker of Columbia, Ky.; one daughter, Phyllis Jenson of Grovertown; two sons, Louis J. Baker of Logansport, William H. Baker of Knox; two brothers, H. C. Baker of South Elgin, Ill., Randall Baker of Cobden, Ill.; and six grandchildren.
Young Plymouth lineup opens with win
Plymouth's boys tennis team unveiled a young and talented singles lineup in a 5-0 victory over visiting Kokomo at home in Centennial Park Monday night.
Sophomore John Hunter made the jump up from 3 singles last year to the No. 1 spot in this year's Pilgrims lineup, putting away Kokomo senior Craig Simon in straight 6-3 sets, while freshman John Gerard trumped Wildkats senior Bryce York 6-4, 6-2 at 2 singles, and sophomore Nate Knapp won his 3 singles match with Blake Brookshire 6-2, 6-3.

PLYMOUTH â Dottus (Mrs. Buford) Benge, 83, and a Plymouth resident for the past 15 years, passed away at 2:47 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 in Millerâs Merry Manor, Plymouth.
The daughter of Owen and Buena (Vista) Young, Dottus was born in Owensboro, Ky. on Aug. 11, 1930. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1948. She then attended Western Kentucky University, graduating in 1952 with a degree in Home Economics and a teaching certificate.
On Aug. 19, 1952, Dottus married Buford Benge in Jackson County, Ga.
Margaret E. Jones

ROCHESTER âÂ Margaret E. Jones, 83, of Rochester, died at 12:25 a.m., Friday, Aug. 16, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Ted) Baker of Warsaw, Janet (Chet) Los of Syracuse; a son, Joseph (Ronda) Jones of Seymour; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
â¢Anthony Michael Long, 45 of Plymouth was arrested by Plymouth Police at 2:20 p.m. on Aug. 16. for possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a syringe, resisting law enforcement.
â¢Gregory Allen Mullins Jr., 35 of South Bend was arrested by Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 5:20 p.m. on Aug. 16 for driving while suspended.
â¢Ethan Bradley Wagers, 19 of Plymouth was arrested by Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 10:55 p.m. on Aug. 16 for possession of marijuana.
