Plymouth trumps Bremen
Plymouthâ€™s volleyball team earned a four-game victory on the road in Bremen Wednesday, 25-18, 24-26, 25-10, 25-17.
The Lady Pilgrims were led by Cassi Quissellâ€™s 14 kills with 25 digs in a breakout performance, while Hunter Stevens tallied 11 kills and three aces, and Libbie Portteus finished with 10 kills and eight blocks.
Haley Harrell set a prolific 42 assists with three aces, four blocks and 16 digs, and Emily Eveland notched 22 digs with three aces.

PLYMOUTH â€”Â Roger Lee Burch, 55, of Plymouth passed away Sept. 17, 2013.
Roger was born to Vernon and Naomi Burch on May 28, 1958; Roger is survived by his mother, Naomi Niemier.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Lee Burch in 1972 and one sister, Lisa Burch Fear in 2004.

HENDERSON, Nev. â€” Valerie A. Schaefer-Sciullo, 60, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 after a courageous 2 Â˝ year battle with cancer in the Nathan Andelson Hospice, Las Vegas, Nev.
Born in Plymouth on Oct. 1, 1952, Valerie was the daughter of Richard W. Schaefer and Anna B. (Thomas) Schroeder.

PLYMOUTH â€” Jill Nichole Beasley-Patrick, 25, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
Born on June 1, 1988 in LaPorte, Jill was the daughter of Lisa A. (Patrick) Combs. She graduated from Triton High School with the class of 2007.
With dreams of joining the U.S. Air Force, she attended boot camp in San Antonio, Texas. She was unfortunately unable to continue on with her plans at that time in her life.

CULVER â€”Â Matthew Scott Lough, 47, of Culver died at 9:35 a.m. Sept. 23, 2013 at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Lough; son, Damien D. Lough of Culver; mother, Ann S. Lough of Culver; and brother, Michael A. Lough of Greenwood.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 at Odom Funeral Home, Culver. Services will follow at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery, Rochester.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donorâ€™s choice.
NORTH JUDSON â€” The fledgling athletic conference featuring Culver, Triton, Knox, North Judson and LaVille now has a name.
The Hoosier North Athletic Conference will include nine schools in six adjoining counties as current Northern State Conference schools Culver, LaVille, Knox and Triton are joined by Midwest Conference schools Caston, Pioneer, West Central and Winamac and independent North Judson-San Pierre. The new athletic conference is scheduled to begin play with the 2015-16 school year to give member schools enough time to align their schedules for each sport.
