Rockies stay perfect in NLC
Plymouthâs wrestling team kept its Northern Lakes Conference record perfect with a dominant 57-12 win on the road at NorthWood Thursday night.
The Rockies won in 11 of 14 weight classes, including six by pinfall and one by tech fall as they moved to 4-0 in the NLC with a 12-1 overall slate.
Osman Solis, Cody Allmon, Kam Markovich and Triston Rodriguez all scored pinfall wins between 113 and 132 pounds, while Aaron Houin and Drew Dodson won by fall at 182 and heavyweight.

PLYMOUTH â Barbara A. Sowards, 77, of Lawrence Lake Drive, passed away after an extended illness at 7:56 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth Campus.
The daughter of Burton F. and Marguerite Craig Johnson, Barbara was born March 16, 1936 in Detroit, Mich. She graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in Kansas with the class of 1953.
Barb would marry Jack Hann who would precede her in death in 1970. In 1973, she married Clarence E. Sowards. He preceded her in death in 1989.

PLYMOUTH âÂ Arnold H. âHankâ Hite, 88, of Plymouth, passed away at 12 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at the HospiceÂș House, in South Bend.

PLYMOUTH âÂ Thelma Ruth Gates, 97, of Plymouth, formerly of Argos, passed away Dec. 15, 2013 at 10:25 p.m. at Millerâs Merry Manor â Plymouth. She had been in declining health for several months.
She was born Aug. 29, 1916 in Steuben County to Harley and Ruth (Mountain) Cosper. She has lived in the Argos community since March 1, 1948, coming from Plymouth where her and her husband Otto had lived for six years.
On Oct. 19, 1937 in Hamilton she married Otto H. Gates. He preceded her on Sept. 28, 2005.

Dolores Mae Grover

ARGOS â Dolores Mae Grover, 86, a resident of Argos since 1960, passed away at 6:14 p.m. on Sat., Dec. 14, 2013 in Catherine Kasper Life Center, Donaldson.
The daughter of Arthur and Henrietta Steinbrunner Pletcher, Dolores was born on April 17, 1927 in South Bend.
On June 25, 1960, Dolores and Charles M. Grover were married in Plymouth. Charles passed away on Nov. 26, 2009.
She had worked as an assembler at Bendix in 9A for 30 years, retiring in 1983.
James Edward Hill

FAIRFIELD- James E. Hill, 65, of Fairfield, an Ohio resident for the past 20 years coming from Plymouth, passed away at Hospice House of Hamilton Ohio on Mon., Dec. 16, 2013.
The son of Ralph and Elsie Hill, Jim was born Jan. 8, 1948 in Plymouth.
On April 17, 1971 Jim and Susan Elliott were married in Toto.
Jim worked for ABF Freightways for many years until his retirement. He also served in the Navy during the Vietnam Era.
He enjoyed remodeling houses and restoring old cars. He really enjoyed walking his dog âRingoâ in the park.

Patrick A. Dopieralski, 52, of Lakeville, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Mon., Dec. 16, 2013 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born on Dec. 13, 1961 in New Carlisle, to Donald and Dolly B. (Richardson) Dopieralski. On Sept. 20, 1993 in South Bend, he was united in marriage to the former Susan M. Taberski.
