WARSAW â€” On Monday, Plymouthâ€™s Rockies earned a reprisal over an NLC foe.
At Wednesdayâ€™s Warsaw Sectional semifinal, they backed up a win.
Cesar Aguilar notched two goals for Plymouth, and the Rockies defense combined for the blank sheet in a 2-0 win over conference-rival NorthWood.
Plymouth now advances to get another crack at host Warsaw at the tournament championship Saturday at 2 p.m. following the Tigersâ€™ come-from-behind 4-3 win over Culver Military Academy earlier Wednesday evening.
CULVER â€” Plymouthâ€™s hopes of its first regional tennis title in more than two decades came to a crashing halt at the hands of its bitterest conference rival Wednesday.
The Pilgrims entered the championship round of the Culver Military Academy Regional hoping to reprise an earlier Northern Lakes Conference loss to the Tigers â€” one of just three losses for Plymouth headed into Wednesdayâ€™s regional final â€”Â but instead fell in another narrow 3-2 decision.
Still, Plymouth head coach Michael Delp couldnâ€™t fault his teamâ€™s effort.

BOURBON â€”Â Florence Faulkner, 89, of Bourbon, formerly of Atwood, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at 12:40 a.m. in Millerâ€™s Merry Manor Nursing Home of Plymouth.
Surviving are three daughters; Sharon (Larry) Lemler of Bourbon, Connie (Jerry) Lozier of Tippecanoe, Jackie (James) White of Hunt, Texas; a son Terry (Bev) Faulkner of Winona Lake; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
There will be no services at this time. A private family burial ceremony will take place.
Burial will follow in Sand Ridge Cemetery, Bourbon.
ELKHART â€“ The Indiana Department of Transportation announced that Indiana Avenue east of SR 19 (Nappanee Street) in Elkhart is scheduled for a 40-day closure, beginning on today as part of the SR 19 road construction project. The closure, which is required for the contractor to reconstruct the approaches to SR 19 and add improved drainage features, is expected to end in late November, weather permitting.
BREMENâ€” The Bremen Police Department is currently searching for a missing elderly person. Francis Hill Jr., approx. 70 years old, was last scene near W. Grant Street. He is described as a white male, weighing around 190 pounds. Police are urging citizens to check their cars, yards and complexes for the the individual.

PLYMOUTH - The process of having a Plymouth interchange for the new U.S. 31 continues to move forward with hopes of bidding by the end of the year.
Marshall County Attorney Jim Clevenger reported to the Marshall County Commissioners that processing of payment for one disputed parcel of land for the 7th Road extension project was already begun.
PLYMOUTH - Mike Reese of The Troyer Group updated the Plymouth Park and Recreation Board on River Park Square at the board meeting on Monday, Oct 7.
According to Reese the park is starting to take shape but is three to four weeks behind schedule due to a number of set backs. Aside from the underground discoveries having their hand in delaying the development of the park, speciality products such as the pergola and the performance structure have added to the setbacks. Reese explained vendor manufacturing has been slow with the specialty products.
LAPAZ - LaPaz-North Township Fire Department is joining forces with the nonprofit National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) for Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 6-12.
The fire department and the NFPA would like to remind local residents to 'Prevent Kitchen Fires.' For this year's fire safety campaign fire departments will be spreading the word about the dangers of kitchen fires which primarily result from unattended cooking and teaching local residents how to prevent kitchen fires from starting in the first place.

PLYMOUTH â€” Soccer coaches often worry about their teamsâ€™ prospects for beating a team twice in a short span, but Plymouth head coach Chuck DeWitt never did, not even when Culver Girls Academy went up early.
After the Lady Rockiesâ€™ narrow 1-0 victory over CGA in a rain-abbreviated sectional preview match in Culver last Thursday, DeWitt was confident his team could do it again in its sectional-opener Tuesday. The veteran coachâ€™s Rockies didnâ€™t let him down.
