WAPAKONETA, Ohio — Joseph E. Elkins Sr., 92, of Wapakoneta, Ohio died 10:55 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Auglaize Acres. He was born Feb. 19, 1921, in Bourbon, the son of Charles Edward and Mary (Corl) Elkins, who preceded him in death. On May 17, 1947, he married Phyllis C. Keyser, and she survives.

Agenda set for Plymouth School Board meeting

November 1, 2013

PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Community Schools Corp. Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. in the administration board room; and a report on GED and Adult Basic Education Program.

The Pilot News will have a report on the meeting in the Wednesday, Nov. 6 print and e-editions.

Ancilla College honors the late Dr. Bowen

DONALDSON – Former Governor of Indiana, Dr. Otis Bowen, was remembered on campus Thursday, Oct. 31. Bowen had several connections to the Center at Donaldson including his time as an Ancilla College board member and Catherine Kasper Life Center resident.

Pedestrian fatality reported

November 1, 2013

PLYMOUTH — The Marshall County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that an investigation is ongoing concerning the death of a pedestrian at 2:49 a.m. today on U.S. 30 near Union road.

According to the press release, a truck driver called in the accident, and a victim was located on the side of the road. The initial investigation indicates that the victim, a male, jumped into the path of the truck.

The investigation is continuing and the victim's name has not been released, pending notification of the next of kin.
