Bremen couple bikes for health

At almost 90 years old, Earl Manges and his wife Virginia aren't ready to take old age lying down.
Around 20 years ago, Manges was having such severe back problems that he walked with crutches. He had surgery and began therapy, using an exercise bike.
"I was biking when I was just a kid; my brothers and sisters all rode on the same bike," Manges mused. "When my father passed away, there was this old rusty bike in the attic."

Bremen’s Wickens places 81st at state

TERRE HAUTE — Bremen junior Kris Wickens passes New Prairie’s David Kampf just before the finish line at Saturday’s IHSAA boys state cross country finals in Terre Haute.
Wickens, only the second Bremen runner to ever compete in a boys state cross country meet, finished 81st out of 206 total runners.
He completed the 5,000-meter course at the Wabash Valley Sports Center in 16:40.9.
Kampf, this year’s Northern State Conference champ, placed 82nd in 16:41.8.

PLYMOUTH — Lynn Dale Morris, 55, a lifetime resident of Plymouth, passed away Saturday morning at his home surrounded by his loving family, he had bravely faced a diagnosis of cancer just one month ago. Lynn will be remembered as a man who loved his family, friends and community and gave freely of his time for the benefit of all.

Plymouth woman dies in traffic accident

PLYMOUTH — A late evening crash Friday killed a Plymouth woman and sent several others to a South Bend hospital. The crash occurred at the intersection of 13th Road and U.S. 31.
