LaPORTE — Betty I. Berg, 88, died Monday, May 27, 2013 at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheri Alvarez of LaPorte and Angela Berg of Indianapolis; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Norman of South Bend and Larry Norman of Plymouth and one sister, Evelyn Norem of Plymouth.

•Cameron Neil Yazell, 31 of South Bend was arrested by the Indiana State Police at 2:40 p.m. on May 29 for possession of marijuana.
•Jose Danilo Arita, 33 of Warsaw was arrested by Bremen Police at 4:08 p.m. on May 29 for operating a motor vehicle without ever receiving a license.
•Albert DeShawn Jones, 30 of South Bend was arrested by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 7:32 p.m. for failure to appear.
•Michael Richard Foster, 40 of Plymouth was arrested by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 11:45 p.m. on May 29 for domestic battery with a prior conviction.

PLYMOUTH — Culver Military’s lineup has been finding ways to hit its way out of trouble all season long. After a 12-inning marathon win over Jimtown in the Plymouth Sectional semifinal Tuesday night, the hits finally dried up In Wednesday’s championship game.
St. Joe jumped out to a fast start with four runs in the top of the first, and CMA managed just four total hits against the Indians pitching staff of Connor Sweeney and Brad Hartman in an eventual 9-2 loss at Bill Nixon Field.

Bremen splits on 5th score
Goshen beat out Bremen’s boys golf team on a fifth score tiebreaker as the Lions split a triangular meet at Maplecrest Country Club Tuesday.
Kevin Woodyard and Micah Knoblock turned in a pair of 39s to lead the Lions, Kerry Herman fired off a 42 in the five spot, Sky Allen shot 47, and Bremen beat out Bethany Christian 167-234 to move to 14-9 on the season. Brad Foster’s 51 fell seven strokes back of Goshen’s Nate Gingerich as the Lions took the narrow loss to Goshen.
