NEW YORK, NY — Plymouth Olympian Morgan Uceny will run in the 1500 meters today at the Adidas Grand Prix in New York City. TV coverage is to be live on NBC from 1 to 3 p.m. EST.
Having begun her training three months later than usual, Uceny is not expecting to win at today’s race but is instead hoping to hit a target time. After the race’s conclusion she will fly back to Louborough, England, where she now lives and trains before traveling to Rome to compete on June 6.
CULVER — With the rest of their team now out of the state tournament, Andria Shook and Marissa German are happy to carry the banner for Plymouth.
The Lady Pilgrims may have been eliminated from the team tennis tournament via a disappointing 3-2 decision to their repeat regional champion hosts at the Culver Girls Academy Regional championship Wednesday night, but Shook and German remained unbeaten in the tournament to stay alive in the IHSAA’s 23rd Annual Doubles Tournament.
Lady Trojans win Sectional 51 title
Mallorie Jennings fanned 10 while allowing just one earned run in a complete seven-inning outing inside the circle, and Triton racked up 12 hits as the Lady Trojans brought home just the second softball sectional championship in school history with a 10-5 victory over Westville at the Class A South Central (Union Mills) Sectional Friday night.
