Nick Greenawalt, meteorologist at the Northern Indiana National Weather Service office said that this March has been on average 20 degrees colder than the same time last year. Wednesday was the official first day of spring according to the calendar, but temperatures stayed in the 20s for most of the day.
PLYMOUTH â€” Plymouth Police have a suspect in the January bomb threat at Plymouth High School.
Plymouth Police Detective Sgt. Jim Cox told the media that a student at the high school had come forward Monday admitting to writing the threat that was found on a bathroom wall at the school.
Cox stated in his release to media outlets Wednesday that the student said he had no intention of harming other students or the facility.
CULVER â€” Culver Girls Academy senior forward Andrijana Cvitkovic has been named to the Indiana All-Star team by The Indianapolis Star. She is one of 12 players who will face the Kentucky All-Stars in a home-and-home series early this summer.

To be a member of the Indiana All-Star team and become a part of the history and tradition is unbelievable,â€ť Cvitkovic said. â€śI am looking forward to playing with several of the girls who I got to know on the Junior All-Star team and competed against in AAU.â€ť
PLYMOUTH â€” Spring is here, and the divots will be flying once again as Ancilla hosts its annual golf classic fundraiser.
The tournament is set to take place at the Plymouth Country Club, overlooking Pretty Lake on Monday, June 10. The tournament will follow a four-person Florida scramble format.
INDIANAPOLIS â€” Area standouts Clay Yeo of Triton and Mack Mercer of Plymouth have both been selected as first team picks on the Indiana Basketball Coaches Associationâ€™s 2013 All-State lists.
Yeo is one of 15 players to be named to the associationâ€™s senior All-State list, while Mercer is one of 15 juniors named to the IBCAâ€™s Underclass All-State first team.
INDIANAPOLIS â€” Three area senior standouts were given honors at the Seventh Annual Griddy Awards Sunday at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center in Indianapolis.
Plymouth offensive lineman Dan Samuelson was one of 26 players named to the Big School All-State list, while Bremen defensive back Bobby Cornett and Culver Military Academy defensive lineman Frank Slykas were both named to the 27-player Small School All-State roll.
