Woman arrested for sexual misconduct with 15-year-old

On Jan. 29, Detective Sgt. Leo Mangus with the Plymouth Police Department received information regarding possible sexual activity between a 15 year old male and a 29 year old female named Lisa Tincher.
The 15 year old male was located and provided details regarding the sexual activity.
Tincher was located on Tuesday and admitted to sexual activity with the 15 year old that had occurred in October 2012 in Plymouth.

Four-legged Argos grad Mileigh completes leader dog training

Editor’s note: This is a first-person account by 2012 Argos graduate Ally Rospopo. Rospopo’s senior project while at Argos was to work with Mileigh a puppy raiser before the dog complete leader dog training. Rospopo’s senior project was previously featured in the Pilot News.

When an Argos senior graduates, this is usually the completion of his or her senior project, but for me the journey continued.

Culver park board nixes beer tasting event, hires programming director

The Culver park board's vote as to whether to allow a beer tasting event in the town park came down to an even 50-50 split, but the lack of a majority of favorable votes equaled a "no."

The decision came after lengthy -- and sometimes heated -- discussion between representatives of the proposed event, Evil Czech Brewery owner George Pesek and brewery manager Shawn Erikson, and the park board and audience.

Pilgrims coast, Falcons fall in OT at Class 3A New Prairie Sectional

NEW CARLISLE — Wednesday night’s Class 3A New Prairie Sectional quarterfinals were decided in just two periods.
The opener went down to the wire, but the nightcap was decided at the outset as South Bend St. Joseph’s used a strong effort from sophomore Madeline Raster to hand John Glenn a 45-41 overtime defeat, and Plymouth rode a 14-1 first quarter to an eventual 57-20 rout of Jimtown to set up a semifinal match-up between the traditional rivals Friday night in New Carlisle.

OD, Argos roll into Sectional 51 semis

HAMLET — Two games, two big blowouts at the Class A Girls Basketball Sectional 51 Wednesday at The Den.
In the opener, host Oregon-Davis ran off 27 unanswered points to open the game and limited Westville to four points through three quarters en route to an 83-18 victory.
Meanwhile, Argos rattled off 22 consecutive points over a nine-minute span in the first half and settled for a mere 30-point margin in a 52-22 rout of Michigan City Marquette in the nightcap.

It’s all in the family as Samuelson signs with Wolverines

PLYMOUTH — Plymouth Rockies offensive lineman Dan Samuelson made it official Wednesday morning — next year he will be a Michigan Wolverine.
After a long-involved recruitment period, Samuelson arrived at his decision for a simple reason.
“Coach Hoke and academics,” said Samuelson of his decision of U of M. “I want to study Special Education.”
That decision — along with many others for the Samuelsons — is family-related.

Girls basketball
Slabaugh, Lucchese lead Lady Lions in sectional opener
Bremen jumped out to a 17-11 lead at the first quarter break and held off Prairie Heights down the stretch for a 58-53 victory at the Lady Lions’ opener at the Class 2A Central Noble Sectional Tuesday night.
Sara Slabaugh and Ashley Lucchese put up 17 and 16 points, respectively, and Chelsea Huppert finished with eight as the Lions earned back-to-back wins for just the second time this season.
