CULVER â€” Coming off a somewhat lackluster loss to John Glenn in the Bi-County Tournament last Friday, the Cavaliers bounced back strong Wednesday.
Culverâ€™s offense shared the load with four players in or near double figures, and the Cavs tied a season-high with 18 assists to finish with 54 percent accuracy from the floor in a 63-44 win over Oregon-Davis on their home floor at John R. Nelson Gymnasium.
No. 9 Plymouth dominates at Clay
Plymouth ran out to a 23-5 lead at the first quarter break and never let up as the Class 3A No. 9 Lady Pilgrims more than tripled Clay, 83-25, on the Colonialsâ€™ home floor in South Bend Wednesday.
Lauren Tanner knocked in three 3s on her way to a game co-high 16 points, and Haley Harrell and Kaydon Fosler both hit a pair of triples on their way to respective tallies of 16 and 13 points as Plymouth finished a red-hot 8 of 12 from beyond the arch in a makeup of a game rescheduled from Tuesday night.

PLYMOUTH â€”Â Eldora R. Mann, 73, of Plymouth, passed away, Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at 10:52 a.m., at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, in Plymouth.
Eldora was born July 13, 1939, in Plymouth, to Theodore and Esther (Sutherlin) VanBlaricom. Eldora and Roger Mann were united in marriage Sept. 2, 1978, in Plymouth. Eldora worked at Maax Corporation, in the quality control division. She was a loving wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Richard L. Vining

WARSAW â€” Richard L. Vining, 72, of Warsaw passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013 at 4:10 p.m. in Kosciusko Community Hospital after an illness.
Richard was born the son of Willard and Mary Yocum Vining on May 29, 1940 at Warsaw. He was a resident of Warsaw since 1963. Dick was a graduate of Tippecanoe High School class of 1959. Dick worked for Dalton Corporation for more than 42 years in the Financial Department, retiring in September of 2006. Previously he worked at Steel Fabricating of Mishawaka and Associates of South Bend.

CULVER â€”Â R. Steven Hoesel, born June 26, 1952, passed away peacefully at 11:45 a.m., Jan. 12, 2013.
Steven was born, raised, and resided in Marshall County, most of his life. He attended Culver and Plymouth schools, participating in football and basketball at Plymouth High School.
Steve served in the military, and graduated from Purdue University, of Â Lafayette.
His profession was Information Technology, specializing in IBM mainframes, and technology consulting.
Lady Pilgrims win thriller
Plymouthâ€™s girls swim team earned its first victory of the season Monday in a thriller at Tippecanoe Valley, 83-81.
The Lady Pilgrims were led by a trio of swimmers with two wins apiece as Layne Holloway won both the 200 and 100 free, Megan Senter won the 50 and 500 free, Lauren Page won the breaststroke and was a winner on her teamâ€™s Medley Relay squad along with Lexi Fetters, Brianda Lowe and Savannah Mae.

Pilgrims top Tippy Valley
PLYMOUTH â€” Meagan Fisher and her family are hosting a 5K walk/ run as she continues to raise funds for the Down Under Track Meet in Australia this June.
The â€śFisher 5K Walk/Run for Australiaâ€ť will take place Saturday, Feb. 9 by the tennis courts in Centennial Park in Plymouth. The course will wind along the Yellow River through the park and Greenway Trails.
Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. with the race scheduled for 9. Entry fee is any size donation and Down Under t-shirts will be available for $20 each.

WARSAW â€” Irene I. Baker, 90, a resident of Millerâ€™s Merry Manor Nursing Home, Warsaw passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.
Irene was born the daughter of David Powers and Clara Sears Powers on Sept. 9, 1922 in Nebraska. She was a resident of the Etna Green area all her life. She was a homemaker.
Allen R. Rush

TIPPECANOE â€”Â Allen R. Rush, 48, a resident of Warsaw Meadows Care Center formerly of Tippecanoe passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at 8:10 a.m.
Allen was born the son of Larry Rush and Rebecca Futch Rush on March 21, 1964 at South Bend. He was a lifelong resident of the Tippecanoe area and was employed at A M General until his illness. He also attended the Bourbon First United Methodist Church when he was able. He enjoyed all kinds of aircraft, naval memorabilia and celebrating the Fourth of July.

DONALDSON â€” Monabelle â€śMonaâ€ť R. Diltz, 90, of Donaldson and formerly of Granger passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, surrounded by her daughters in Catherine Kasper Home.
Mona was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Mishawaka, a daughter of the late Earl and Mabel (Woollet) Wade. She graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1940.
On Sept. 25, 1943, Mona married Raymond G. Diltz. They lived in Mishawaka until moving to Granger in 1975.
