SOUTH BEND â Ramona Dee (Robb) Cook, 50, a resident of South Bend, formerly of Plymouth, passed away unexpectedly in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mona was enrolled in the Indiana Organ Procurement Program where she has now provided life and hope for many. She joined her mother and others who have gone before, at 9:46 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013.

LOS ANGELES â Nicholas A. Rhoads, 35, passed away in Los Angeles, Calif. on Wednesday morning, Jan. 16, 2013.
Nicholas was born Jan. 4, 1978 in South Bend to Arnold and Patricia (Buschman) Rhoads. He spent most of his life in the Plymouth area. He attended Ancilla College and Purdue University.

LaPORTE â Oscar âOzâ B. Smith Jr., 89, died Jan. 26, 2013 at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Georgiana; sons, Gary (Cathy) Smith of Woodbridge, Va., Michael G. (Gloria) Smith of LaPorte; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation was Monday, Jan. 28, 2013 at Braman & Sons Memorial Chapel, 108 S. Main St., Knox from 6 to 7 p.m. CST with a Masonic service to follow. Funeral services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. CST at the funeral home with visitation from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Q - Tell me about your family and the important people in your life...
A - I live with my mom and dad, and David Lee moved in with us over the summer so heâs basically my brother now.
Q - Whatâs that like?
A - Well to go from being an only child to having David around was a little different. I really like him being there and having somebody around to talk to.
Q - David seems like the kind of guy that would be fun to be around...
A - Heâs definitely fun to be around, I can talk to him about anything. I just enjoy having him around.
HUNTINGTON â This past Saturday, Lincolnâs eighth grade boys basketball team defeated Riverview (Huntington) to claim the championship of the Northeast Lakes Middle School Conference.
The Red Storm were down big early in the championship, facing a 12-5 deficit at the end of one quarter. They clamped down defensively, only allowing Huntington three points the rest of the half and led 16-15 at haltime on a buzzer-beating tip-in by Jake Young. Â
Girls basketball
Argos wins at Westville
Argosâ girls basketball team got rolling after a slow first quarter in which both teams score a combined four points in an eventual 37-21 win at Westville Saturday.
Kayla Prochno scored a game-high 12 points, while Karlee VanDerWeele and Amanda Middleton finished with nine and eight points, respectively, in the win, which came on the heels of a a tough 42-38 loss to LaVille last Thursday.
Westville was led by Shaina Jacksâ 10 points.

PLYMOUTH â Alma Marybell Dennie, 98, of Plymouth passed away Jan. 26, 2013 at 1:15 a.m. at Millerâs Merry Manor of Plymouth. She had been in declining health for the past year.
She was born Sept. 14, 1914 in Elwood to Day and Martha (Mophet) Yarling. Alma had lived in the Argos community all of her life.
On Aug. 12, 1933 in Argos, she married Chancey J. Dennie; he preceded her Dec. 20, 1995.
Myrtle C. Nye

PLYMOUTH â Myrtle C. Nye, 102, a resident of the area for more than 60 years, passed away at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 in the Pilgrim Manor, Plymouth.
Myrtle Claire Nye was born, on her parentsâ kitchen table, in Inwood on Sept. 5, 1910 to Annon S. and Edna Florence Catherine (Anderson) Nye. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1928 and was a Beta Sigma Phi.
Lorraine R. Cummins

KNOX â Lorraine R. Cummins, 57, of Knox, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at 2:44 a.m. in the I.U. Health â Starke Hospital. She had been in failing health.
On Oct. 30, 1955 in Plymouth, Lorraine was born the daughter of Sherman Ray and Lula Mae (Nitcher) Pritchett. She attended Plymouth schools.
Lorraine R. Smith became the bride of Jimmie Dale Cummins on June 4, 1975 in Plymouth and they shared a wonderful life together. Lorraine was heartbroken at his passing July 10, 2011.
