PENSACOLA, Fla. — Mildred Virginia Curtis passed away Jan. 5, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Pensacola, Fla. where she had received loving care for several years from her daughter, Colleen G. (Curtis) Grozdanovski, and son-in-law, Petar Grozdanovski.
Born April 28, 1920 in Culver, she was the daughter of the late Henry L. and Rubie (Lasch) Henning of Culver.

TIPPECANOE — Jane Louise Bailey, 85, of Tippecanoe passed away Jan. 15, 2013 at 11:35 a.m. at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth following a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 16, 1927 in Alanson, Mich. to Mamie Dicus. She lived all her life in the Tippecanoe community.
On Aug. 28, 1948 in the Walnut Church of the Brethren, in Argos, she married Glendon E. Bailey. He preceded her Aug. 21, 2004.

River Park Square demolition will move forward

PLYMOUTH - River Park Square will move ahead with the next phase.
The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission gave City Engineer Rick Gaul and City Attorney Sean Surrisi permission to put together bid specifications and requests for demolition of three properties in the project to be reviewed at the Commission’s next meeting. Work on the flood permit for the construction has been completed and it is hoped it will be finished by next month.

Short-handed Cavaliers solid but can’t compete in NSC loss at Glenn

WALKERTON — Culver’s problem at John Glenn Wednesday was the same one the Cavaliers have been plagued with all season long.
With only seven wrestlers facing a full Falcons lineup, Culver’s chances at a team win were dead on arrival in Walkerton.
Still the Cavs put up one heck of a fight on the way to an all-but-inevitable loss, 47-28, in the two teams’ final Northern State Conference dual meet before the NSC Championships Saturday.

Triton runner Stackhouse chooses ISU

BOURBON — Triton senior Trenton Stackhouse has signed on to continue his cross country and track careers next fall at Indiana State University.
Stackhouse has been a standout since junior high and has continued his winning ways through high school, earning a competitive name for himself among area teams and coaches.

8th grade girls basketball
Lady Red Storm 8th opens 2-0
The Lincoln eighth grade girls basketball team began its season with two consecutive the Lady Red Storm defeated Milford 49-15 and on Tuesday they ran their record to 2-0 with a 43-14 win over Wawasee.
Nicole Horvath led the team in combined scoring, averaging 19 points a game, followed by Victoria Styers at 10 points per contest.
Lincoln received strong frontcourt play from Lanae Singleton and Jenna Thomas and great guard play from Anna Bockman, Ashley Harrell and Brittani Splix.
