Bremen clinched a back-to-back Northern State Conference boys soccer championship with a 3-0 win at John Glenn Tuesday.

HAMLET â A family and the Hamlet Police Department are at odds over the circumstances of the death of the familyâs dog.
CULVER â Culverâs incredible hockey legacy is sometimes overlooked or even taken for granted, so frequent are state championship titles won (21 so far) and so many are the Culver Academies graduates who made their way to the NHL.
But one whole Culver family has had remarkable success on the ice, that of Academies advancement officer Kevin Kucera. Two of whose sons have garnered attention at the collegiate level for their hockey success, and his youngest son is already poised to follow in their footsteps.
MISHAWAKA â Class A No. 3-ranked Mishawaka Marian jumped on visiting Argos early. By the time the Lady Dragons adjusted it was too late, and they lost 5-1 in girls soccer action on the road Monday night.
Sophomore Denise Veldman scored an opening goal seven minutes in and assisted two others in the first 20 minutes. Older sister Gabby, a senior, notched a pair of goals, along with one each from Shannon Hendricks and Emma Capannari as the hosts jumped to a 5-0 halftime lead.

PLYMOUTH â Think you need a tan? Thereâs a new way to get some rays.
Malibu Tanning opened Thursday in the Kroger shopping plaza in Plymouth.
Owner Scott Strefling said that this his ninth salon â the others are in South Bend, Osceola, Elkhart, Granger, and Goshen.
âWe are trying to expand, and we thought this would be the perfect location for us,â said Strefling.
The salon is offering free tanning for their first three weeks of being open.
âThereâs no strings attached,â said Strefling. âYou can come in every day if you want to.â
PLYMOUTH â Itâs been 27 years since Pauline Pierson, of Plymouth, first heard about volunteering for the Center for Hospice Care.
She knew right away that Hospice would be a good fit for her.
âA friend of mine was telling me that Hospice would be coming to South Bend,â said Pierson, adding that she lived in South Bend at the time. âI asked her, âWhat is Hospice?â She told me, and I knew that was something I might be interested in doing.â
WINONA LAKE â Last year a few strokes on the back nine cost Plymouth its chance of advancing to regional. On Saturday, a few strokes here and there wound up making the difference again, but this time the Lady Pilgrims got the result they wanted.
Emily Berger saved par scrambling out of the rough on the 18th hole to force a fifth-score tiebreaker with conference rival Wawasee, and Kelly Hendersonâs 107 beat out Kylee Rostochakâs 120 as Plymouth edged out the Warriors for third place to advance out of the Warsaw Girls Golf Sectional at Stonehenge Country Club.
