Plymouth coming around as Culver Academies host annual Invitational

CULVER — Plymouth’s girls entered the high school cross country season with high expectations. Last year’s team made it to the New Prairie semistate and most of those runners are back, so why wouldn’t they?
Somewhere along the way, though, the working-for-it part got blurred a little bit.
“I think there was a little bit of an attitude that all they had to do was show up when the season began,” recounts coach Jami Holm, who was less than thrilled with her team’s practice habits in early August.

Lightning postpones East Noble Golf Regional until today

September 24, 2012

KENDALLVILLE — Rain, rain, go away.
After two lightning delays and with more storms moving in, officials at the East Noble Girls Golf Regional finally decided to delay play until today late Saturday afternoon at Cobblestone Golf Course.
IHSAA rules state that fully half the field must post complete scores in order to resume play at the leaving-off point following a weather postponement, and with everyone still on the front nine at Cobblestone, tournament officials called it a wash, scrapping golfers’ scores for the round and giving them a fresh start as play resumes today.
