Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman visited the J.W. Hicks facilities in Knox Tuesday as part of her Hoosier Crossroads Tour. Skillman, who is nearing the end of her second term as Indiana’s lieutenant governor, has been very active in her support of economic development and the growth of Indiana businesses.
The Hoosier Crossroads Tour, which started in July 2011, will take her to all 92 counties in Indiana visiting local businesses and meeting with local officials. Before coming to Knox, she traveled to Pulaski County to tour Fratco, a plastic drainage pipe manufacturer in Francesville.
ROCHESTER — Roy Bell, of Rochester, will be in Fulton Superior Court Tuesday for his alleged role in the Nov. 22 shooting death of Wilma Upsall, 81, a former Knox resident, during a robbery that Bell and two other men, William Scroggs, of Delong, and Jason Miller of Plymouth, allegedly committed.
Bell is looking at a possible death sentence if convicted of shooting Upsall last November at her daughter’s home near Leiter’s Ford.
PLYMOUTH — It’s Homecoming week at PHS, and when the festivities finally turn to football, it will likely be anything but social on the field.
Northern Lakes Conference foe Wawasee comes to town sporting a 2-3 record and a little history when it comes to the Rockies.
“They’ve beaten us five times since I’ve been head coach here — that’s more than anybody else we play,” said Plymouth coach John Barron. “I’d actually forgotten that stat until somebody pointed it out to me this weekend. They’ve gotten the best of us the last two years. They’re well coached and they seem to have our number.”
WALKERTON — Tuesday’s volleyball match at John Glenn was a race to see who would break into the conference win column first.
Culver seized the momentum early, winning the first game 25-18, but the host Lady Falcons quickly reversed the tide, jumping out to big leads in the second and third games on the way to 25-8 and 25-15 wins. The Cavaliers got back in the match midway through the fourth set, but it was a case of too little, too late, and Glenn earned its first Northern State Conference win, 18-25, 25-8, 25-15, 25-21 at home at The Aerie.

Lions clinch back-to-back NSC championship at Glenn
Bremen clinched a back-to-back Northern State Conference boys soccer championship with a 3-0 win at John Glenn Tuesday.
Andrew Hoff scored on a Chris Gingerich assist in the eighth minute, and Danny Reynoso struck in the 10th minute on a Sam Bickel assist to put the defending NSC champion-Lions up two goals early.
