PLYMOUTH âÂ Josephine Skala, 97, of Plymouth, died at 3:28 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at her home.Â
She is survived by her daughter, Joann Stratton of Plymouth; her son, George Skala, Jr. of Lincoln, Ala.; five grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister.
There will be a private memorial service will be held at a later date.Â

PLYMOUTH â Dr. Susan Alice Bardwell, 48, beloved mother, wife and pediatrician passed away Saturday morning, Aug. 25, 2012. Susan was born Aug. 2, 1964, in Hillsdale, Mich., to Larry Allen Hoedema and Barbara Joan Hoedema. She is survived by both parents, her husband, Michael Keith Bardwell, and children Ian Edward Allen Bardwell and Hayden Michael Lawrence Bardwell. She is also survived by a sister, Lisa Ann Freigang, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

PLYMOUTH â Dorothy C. Schmelter, 92, a River Walk resident in Plymouth since 2006, passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 at 8:28 a.m. in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center â Plymouth Campus of natural causes. Dorothy was a former resident of Hobart.
Dorothy was born in Boone, Iowa March 14, 1920.
She graduated from Hobart High School in 1938. She then completed Beauty College and worked as a hairdresser for 30 years. Much of that time was at Mr. Jerryâs Beauty Shop in Miller where she was also the manager.

LOGANSPORT âÂ Robert R. Martin, 86, Logansport, passed away at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, in the Indiana Veterans Home, West Lafayette.
Born July 2, 1926, in Plymouth, he was the son of Ralph and Alice May (Camp) Martin.
July 29, 1945, in Indianapolis, he was married to Wanda E. Earles Martin, who preceded him in death. Wanda and Robert spent 63 wonderful years together.
Robert served his country in Germany during WWII as a member of the U.S. Army.

NAPPANEE âÂ Paul E. Keys, 69, of Nappanee, died Thursday morning at 12:45 a.m. at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
Surviving are daughters, Paula Nolan, Janei Pickens, Antoinette Keys, all of Nappanee, and Ronda (Eddie) Carter of Plymouth; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four sisters.
Visitation will be Sunday, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. The funeral service will be Monday, at 1:30 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at South Union Cemetery with Military Graveside services.

PLYMOUTH âÂ For his 84th birthday, a man who claims his name is âHandsome Harryâ decided to celebrate in an unusual way. He wanted to skydive.
âItâs something Iâve always wanted to do, ever since my son did it,â said Beechler. He and his wife, Dolores, went in a hot air balloon when they were first married and that was enough for Dolores.
âI would never do this,â she said. âBut it was no shock when he told me he wanted to skydive. Heâs very adventurous.â
