MARSHALL CO. — The Marshall County Humane Society board met last week to discuss plans for the animal shelter’s 30-year anniversary celebration, coming up July 21.
This is the first anniversary event of any kind that the shelter has had, according to board president Vickie Talcott.
“A lot of organizations don’t last that long, and I think we are doing well,” said Talcott. “I was here before there was an animal shelter, and it was not a good situation. (Animals) had almost no chance of survival.”

People filled the main sanctuary, lined the halls outside, and filled another separate room where there was a video feed of the service.
