WINONA LAKE â€” Last year, Triton beat Warsaw on the Trojansâ€™ fifth score to win the Warsaw Sectional championship. On Friday, the Tigers returned the favor.
Warsaw recorded a fifth score of 87 to trump Tritonâ€™s 100 and break a 323-323 tie for the Tigersâ€™ fourth such title in six years on a damp, blustery and unseasonably cold day at Stonehenge Country Club.
Glennâ€™s Prentkowski, LaVilleâ€™s Zach Gurtner advance to regionals
John Glennâ€™s Tyler Prentkowski carded a 4-over-par 74, and LaVilleâ€™s Zach Gurtner finished two strokes back with a 76 at Erskine Municipal as both golfers earned individual regional berths at the South Bend Riley Sectional Friday.
Both Prentkowski and Gurtner advance to the LaPorte Regional next Friday at Beechwood, scheduled to start at 8 a.m. EDT.
PLYMOUTH â€”Â WorkOne of Northern Indiana announced Thursday that they will hold Rapid Response sessions for displaced former Stone Creek Homes employees Monday. Two sessions will be held in the Plymouth WorkOne office, located at 316 Kingston Road: one from 9 to 11 a.m. and the other from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
"Each individual displaced from employment by closure of Stone Creek Homes should attend one session only," stated a press release from WorkOne Thursday.

â€˘ The First United Methodist Church will be serving apple dumplings with caramel sauce at a booth at the Yellow River Festival. Proceeds will go toward the Mission Projects that the church sponsors.

PLYMOUTH â€”Â LaVille Elementary School music teacher Lisa Head recently published her first childrenâ€™s book, Calbert: The Third-Grade Cowboy. The book is a fictional story about bullying written at a second and third grade reading level.
â€śI have a son who is at that level and I told myself as I started writing that (the story) fit best at that age level,â€ť said Head, continuing, â€śIâ€™ve been a foster parent for many years and a teacher for many years. Iâ€™ve had children from both sides in my homeâ€¦both those that are bullies and those that have been bullied.â€ť
PLYMOUTH â€” Last week members of the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Section (MSS) and the Underwater Search Rescue/Recovery Team (USRT), joined forces to clear meth trash from the Yellow River in Marshall County.
The state police recently became aware of the problem after a local fisherman reported seeing several suspicious items floating in the Yellow River near Peach Road and 14th Road that he believed could be meth trash.

PLYMOUTH â€” A Cook Lake resident since 1954, Marion C. Jolly, 81, passed away at 1:34 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 of a cancer related illness in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. As a Christian man he was a dedicated husband, supportive father, grandfather, helpful neighbor and friend to many.
Marion was born in Stillwell Jan. 5, 1931, the only son of Merlin L. and Bertha A. (Hancock) Jolly and was joined by two sisters. In 1939 the family moved to Plymouth.
