PLYMOUTH — Now that many Marshall County students have school-issued laptop computers, school officials are looking seriously into how to deal with bullying that occurs online.
“We are investigating programs that will detect threats made on social media at school,” said Plymouth Community School Corporation superintendent Daniel Tyree. “We want to use the one that we think will be the most effective.”
Tyree said that Plymouth principals are becoming more aware of the need to regularly check student’s computers to ensure threats are not being made.
Bremen sophomore Jacob Bennitt moved to 2-0 on the season going six innings giving up five hits with nine strikeouts for three earned runs as the Lions handed Culver a Northern State Conference loss Wednesday.
Plymouth’s Kelly Hoeffler won in three sets to clinch the Lady Pilgrims a narrow 3-2 win over visiting NorthWood Thursday, Plymouth’s first in the Northern Lakes Conference.
ROYAL CENTER — The Plymouth softball team experienced both the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat during a road trip to Royal Center on Saturday in games against Pioneer and Whiting.
The agony of defeat would come first for Plymouth in dropping a 2-1, eight-inning heartbreaker to Pioneer in the opening game of the day. The Lady Pilgrims would bounce back with a last at-bat victory of their own, though, downing Whiting 4-3 on a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the seventh by April Hampton.
