The English composer, of the early 1900s, Frederick Delius declared, âMusic is an outburst of the soulâ and for local talent Soulfyre this pronouncement is spot-on. The band proclaims their souls are on fire for music.
Warsawâs famed rock-metal band Soulfyre is back in town this Easter weekend, Saturday, April 7 at the Dandelion bar, and ready to regale and delight their fans with the most popular, crowd-pleasing cover tunes in an unparalleled live performance.
The Marshall County Humane Society's annual spring fundraiser, Catsino Night, is coming up April 21.
Tickets are available for $20 and include an all-you-can-eat buffet. The shelter also accepts donations including money, name brand dog and cat food, stamps, clay cat litter, newspaper, paper towels, bleach, old blankets, and laundry detergent.

PLYMOUTH Ââ Daniel Paul Weaver, 58, of 6A Road in Plymouth, died at his home Friday, April 6 of natural causes.
He is survived by his father, Bob; a brother, Mike Weaver of Plymouth; and a sister, Susan Weaver of Delray Beach, Fla.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Services will be held Friday, April 13 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.Â
Burial will follow in the New Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts may be given to an Alcoholics Anonymous Program.

CULVER â Jackie âJockoâ Edward Sherman, 84, of 16th Road, Culver, passed away at 12:50 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at the home of his grandson, with his loving family by his side.
Jocko was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Plymouth, to Ernest and Beulah (Webster) Sherman. He had been a lifelong resident of the Marshall County area. Jocko, and the former Ilene Powell, were united in marriage Jan. 15, 1949. They had been married for 60 years when Ilene passed away April 9, 2009.

PLYMOUTH â Patricia A Rudiatis Vlaisavich, 79, Plymouth, formerly of Hammond, died April 3, 2012 at Millerâs Merry Manor, Culver.
Survivors are her son, Vincent (Cheri) Vlaisavich, Florence, Ky.; daughter, Deborah (Phillip) Sherwood, Argos; brother, John (Sandy) Furto, Merrillville; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

PLYMOUTH â As part of an effort to make sure their six-county area is covered, staff of the Food Bank of Northern Indiana recently began offering a mobile food pantry â bringing food to those that need it, right where they are.
âThis is a new program for us in 2012,â said Amanda Peterson, resource opportunity developer for the Food Bank of Northern Indiana. âWe are trying to reach out to each county first, then individual cities. We are planning to do a mobile pantry in Marshall County once a month.â
Listeners can enjoy music from Chad Van Herk Saturday, May 5 from 2-4 p.m. at the Young Amphitheater in Plymouthâs Centennial Park, cattycorner from the High School. Chad has organized this live performance to raise monies for the Ingram family whose youngest son Trek Atlas has been diagnosed with Niemann Pick Type A, a frustratingly rare, incurable genetic disease which claims the life of those who are so-diagnosed by the age of three.

PLYMOUTH â Thanks to an alleged âprogramming errorâ at the Indiana Department of Revenue, Marshall County is being reimbursed today for money it should have received over the last two years, in the tune of $1.4 million. Although the amount is not as dramatic as other Indiana counties â Marion County, for example, will be reimbursed $33 million â itâs all relative when the county population is taken into consideration, said Marshall County auditor Penny Lukenbill.
âThe $1.4 million to us means as much as the $33 million does for Marion County,â said Lukenbill.
PLYMOUTH â South Bend Riley pitcher Jackie Logsdon had something that the Plymouth Lady Pilgrim softball team hadnât seen much of only three games into the season â a change-up.
The Wildcat right-hander used the pitch early and often in the game en route to a three-hit, nine-strikeout performance and a 7-0 shutout against the host Lady Pilgrims Monday night.
