Many in Culver will remember Christian Snyder’s battle with cancer as a teen. Many likely are not aware, however, that the raditation treatment which saved his life then is now threatening his life. At just 13, Chris was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor.
"We were told to be happy for every day he was with us," recalls mom Darlene. "Churches all over the U.S. and the Plymouth area were praying for him."

PLYMOUTH — Jimmy John’s in Plymouth took a precautionary step by pulling spouts from its sandwich offerings many months ago. Reports of outbreaks of salmonella and E.coli in 2010-11 in other areas lead to the action.
BURKET — Two 17-year-olds and Jon Rightsell, 23, of Mentone, were arrested Wednesday night and charged with arson after a fire broke out at Burket Alternative School in Burket. Burket fire personnel quickly extinguished the fire and called the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department to investigate what appeared to be suspicious individuals near the scene.

PLYMOUTH — Construction could begin once more on the Comfort Inn on Michigan Street in Plymouth. For more than two years, a sign in front of the structure said the hotel would be opened in 2010. However, since 2010 has come and gone, Mayor Mark Senter added the project to his list of what he terms “eyesores” in the community that he hopes to see improved.
Senter recently published the list as a part of his “Operation Bright Spot” project and, as anticipated, has now been getting responses from owners.
PLYMOUTH — After more than 20 years and a dozen championships, Plymouth High School girls basketball coach Dave Cox is retiring, the school announced Wednesday.
Cox leaves the program as the school’s all-time winningest hoops coach with 308 victories to his credit.
PLYMOUTH — Plymouth senior guard Ryan McNeil and sophomore center Mack Mercer have been named to the 2011-12 All-Northern Lakes Conference boys basketball team, while senior forward John Ruff was given All-NLC Honorable Mention.
