Uceny takes official No. 1 rank in 1,500m

January 2, 2012

It’s official. Plymouth native Morgan Uceny is the No. 1 women’s 1500-meter runner in the world.
So says Track & Field News magazine, which released it’s annual year-end rankings late Saturday, just before the New Year’s ball dropped in New York.
Track & Field News, known as the “Bible of the Sport,” has been compiling World and National rankings each year since 1947. A world-wide panel of experts votes on each event and the results are considered the “official” rankings of the running community.
